Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess Chapter 14

Okay, okay, settle in, grab your metaphorical coffee (or, you know, actual coffee if you're feeling it!), because we NEED to talk about Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess chapter 14. Seriously, did you SEE that? My jaw? Still on the floor.
Right from the get-go, we're thrown into the deep end. Penelope, bless her chaotic heart, is navigating this whole 'being a fake daughter' thing like a pro. Or... maybe like a very confused, slightly terrified pro. But hey, who are we to judge? We'd probably be even more of a mess, wouldn't we?
Eclise. Just the name sends shivers down my spine. He's so loyal, so devoted...and yet, there's something undeniably unsettling about him. Like a puppy... a really scary puppy. A puppy who knows how to wield a sword. You get the picture.
Must Read
And speaking of sword-wielding, can we talk about how Penelope is basically forced into this crazy hunting competition? Like, "Hey, welcome to the family, now go fight a monster for my amusement!" Seriously? What kind of family bonding exercise is that?
I almost choked on my coffee reading that part.

The tension between Penelope and the brothers is, as always, deliciously awkward. You can practically cut it with a knife (a knife probably procured during said hunting competition, naturally). They all clearly have… feelings. Of some kind. I mean, are they good feelings? Are they bad feelings? Are they somewhere in the murky middle of 'I want to strangle you but also maybe protect you from a dragon'? Who even knows?!
Let's be real, the hunting competition is just a thinly veiled excuse for everyone to show off. Reynold's being Reynold's, aka a total brat. He thinks he's so impressive, but we all know he's just trying to get Penelope's attention. Eye roll. Grow up, dude.

And then there's Derrick. Ugh, Derrick. Always with the disapproving glares and the simmering rage. What is his deal? Seriously, someone needs to give that man a chill pill... or maybe a hug? Actually, scratch that, a hug from Penelope might just send him into a murderous rage. It's a lose-lose situation!
But the real MVP of this chapter? Penelope's internal monologue. Girl is hilarious! She’s desperately trying to survive while simultaneously making snarky comments about everyone around her. It's relatable, it's funny, and it's the only thing keeping me sane while reading about this insane family dynamic.
The Twist That Had Me Gasping!
Okay, deep breaths everyone. Remember that seemingly harmless monster Penelope manages to defeat? Yeah, well, turns out it's not so harmless after all. And its presence? Not a coincidence. Dun dun DUN!

Someone is clearly trying to sabotage Penelope, and honestly, I'm not even surprised. This family is so dysfunctional, I wouldn't be shocked if they were all secretly plotting against each other. Is it Derrick? Is it Reynold? Is it even the father? The possibilities are endless, and that's what makes this story so addictive!
My personal theory? Okay, put on your tinfoil hats, because I'm about to go full conspiracy theorist. I think there's someone outside the family pulling the strings. Someone who wants to see Penelope fail, and possibly even die. Who that is, I have absolutely no clue, but I'm betting we'll find out sooner rather than later.

The chapter ends on a cliffhanger (of course it does!), with Penelope realizing the danger she's in. And let's be honest, she's probably thinking, "Great, just another Tuesday in the life of a villainess doomed to die."
Seriously, I need the next chapter now! Like, yesterday. What's going to happen to Penelope? Who's trying to kill her? Will Derrick ever smile? (Okay, probably not that last one.)
What are your theories? Spill the tea! Let's discuss in the comments! And may the odds be ever in Penelope's favor (because she definitely needs them!).
