Dragon Ball Evolve Action Figures

Dragon Ball Evolve Action Figures

Hey, you into Dragon Ball? I mean, who isn't, right? We all spent our childhoods glued to the TV, screaming along with Goku as he powered up. Good times. Anyway, I wanted to tell you about these Dragon Ball Evolve action figures I've been checking out. They're pretty cool. Want to hear about 'em?

So, first off, these aren't your grandpa's action figures (unless your grandpa is a really cool collector, in which case, respect!). They're not those stiff, unposeable things we used to get, either. These guys are all about the action. Like, seriously, they're ready to throw down!

What’s the Deal with Evolve?

The "Evolve" part, I think, is meant to signify, well, the evolution of the characters. You know, all those transformations? Super Saiyan this, Super Saiyan God that... it's a whole thing. But the point is, they've tried to capture that essence in these figures. And, honestly, they’ve done a pretty good job.

We're talking decent articulation here. What's articulation? That's the number of joints that the figure has, which helps you pose them in different ways. So, Goku can actually do a Kamehameha pose! Or, at least, a decent attempt at one. It's all about imagination, right?

The sculpts are generally pretty good too. They’ve captured the distinctive look of each character, from Goku's spiky hair (how does he do that?) to Vegeta's perpetually grumpy expression. You can practically hear him muttering about being number one!

Who’s In The Lineup?

They've got all the usual suspects. Goku, obviously. Can't have a Dragon Ball line without him! Vegeta too, because who's Goku gonna argue with? Gohan shows up in a couple of forms (Teen Gohan still rocks that purple gi, doesn’t he?). And Piccolo! Gotta have Piccolo. He’s the grumpy uncle figure of the Z Fighters, isn't he?

They've been adding more characters over time, which is awesome. I've seen some Freiza figures floating around... scary guy. And a few others. I always hope they'll branch out and do some of the less popular characters. Where's my Tien Shinhan love, huh? Or Yamcha? (Okay, maybe not Yamcha…poor guy never gets a break.)

Are They Worth It?

Okay, the big question: are these figures worth your hard-earned cash? Well, that depends. Are you a die-hard Dragon Ball fan? Then probably yes. Do you like collecting cool action figures? Again, probably yes. Are you expecting Hot Toys quality for a much lower price? Then maybe temper your expectations just a tad. They’re good for the price point, but they're not gonna blow you away with insane detail.

One thing I appreciate is the affordability. You can usually find these figures for a pretty reasonable price, especially if you shop around. This makes them great for starting a collection, or for getting gifts for your Dragon Ball obsessed friend (you know, the one who still argues about power levels).

Plus, let's be real, it's just fun to have little versions of your favorite characters hanging out on your desk. Makes work a little less soul-crushing, doesn't it?

Things To Consider

Now, before you run out and buy every single figure, there are a few things to keep in mind. The paint apps can be a little inconsistent sometimes. You might get one with a slightly wonky eye or a smudge of paint where it shouldn't be. Quality control isn't always perfect, but it's generally acceptable.

Also, the accessories can be a bit lacking. Some figures come with extra hands or faceplates, which is cool, but others are a bit bare bones. A Kamehameha effect part would be awesome, right? Maybe someday...

And finally, these are action figures, not indestructible bricks. They’re made of plastic, so be careful when posing them. Don’t force anything! No one wants a broken Goku, do they?

Final Thoughts

All in all, the Dragon Ball Evolve action figures are a fun and affordable way to scratch that Dragon Ball itch. They're not perfect, but they're well-sculpted, poseable, and capture the essence of the characters we all know and love. Plus, they look awesome on a shelf. I mean, who wouldn't want a little Super Saiyan Blue Goku watching over them?

So, go check them out! And if you end up getting one, let me know what you think. Maybe we can trade tips on posing them... or just argue about who's stronger, Goku or Vegeta. You know, the important stuff! 😉

Happy collecting!
