I Killed The Player Of The Academy Manhwa

Okay, okay, hear me out. I know how it sounds. "I Killed The Player Of The Academy"… Like, did I become some supervillain overnight? Did I suddenly crave the thrill of manhwa-related homicide? (Spoiler alert: no.) But trust me, there's a *huge* difference between *me* killing the Player and… well, *actually* killing him. You following?

Let's back up a sec. I was reading "Academy of the Zenith," right? A super popular manhwa where the main character, Jaehyun, is *the* Player. Like, chosen one material. OP skills, ridiculously good-looking, the whole shebang. You know the type. So predictable. (I still read it religiously, though. Don't judge.)

Anyway, Jaehyun was being annoyingly, well, Jaehyun. You know, solving every problem with ease, charming all the girls (eye roll), and generally being the poster child for overpowered protagonists. I was at the point where I wanted to throw my tablet across the room. Seriously, another power-up?! How much stronger can one guy get?!

And that's when it happened. That's when I killed him. Metaphorically, of course. I basically rage-quit reading. Dropped the series like a hot potato. Jaehyun, the Player, ceased to exist *for me*. He was dead. Manhwa dead. (Okay, I know it’s dramatic, but I felt *personally* betrayed by the power creep.)

Big deal, right? People drop series all the time. But here's the thing: I was *invested*. I was *emotionally* invested! I'd been following "Academy of the Zenith" for, like, a year! I knew Jaehyun's backstory, his favorite food (apparently, it's spicy ramen… shocking), and the names of all his ridiculously named skills (e.g., "Celestial Dragon's Breath"… *cringe*).

So, yeah, killing him – in my head, at least – felt like a pretty big deal. Like I’d just ended a very one-sided (and fictional) relationship.

The Aftermath: Dealing with Jaehyun-less Existence

The first few days were rough. I kept seeing updates on my phone. "Academy of the Zenith - New Chapter!" My finger hovered over the notification, tempted to peek. But I stood strong! I wouldn't give in! Jaehyun was dead to me! (Except...was he *really*?)

I tried to find other manhwa to fill the void. But everything seemed…lacking. Too generic. Too cliché. Nothing could compare to the sheer, unadulterated power fantasy that was "Academy of the Zenith." Even though I *said* I hated it. Talk about a toxic relationship!

And I crumbled. Like a cookie in warm milk. I couldn't resist. I had to know. I clicked on the link. I started reading.

Resurrection: I Brought Him Back!

And… guess what? It was *good*. Really good. The plot twist was actually pretty clever. Jaehyun was forced to confront his own limitations. He wasn't just breezing through everything anymore. There was actual character development! (Who knew?!)

So, yeah, I resurrected Jaehyun. I brought him back to life. (Manhwa life, anyway.) I'm back on the "Academy of the Zenith" train. And I'm not even ashamed. (Okay, maybe a little.)

The moral of the story? Never say never. And maybe, just maybe, even the most annoying, overpowered protagonists deserve a second chance. Or at least, a plot twist that makes them slightly less annoying. What do you think? Am I totally weak for going back?
