Ore Wa Seikan Kokka No Akutoku Ryoshu

Hey, wanna hear about something totally bonkers? I'm talking next-level, anime-is-a-trip bonkers. Let's dive into "Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoshu!" Or, if you’re not fluent in Japanese (like me!), "I Am the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!"
Yep, you read that right. Intergalactic. Empire. Evil Lord.
Forget saving the world. This is about ruling it…or at least a sizable chunk of it.
Must Read
So, what's the deal? It’s basically about a guy who gets reincarnated. He wasn't a hero in his past life. Nope. He was…well, kinda a jerk. Now he's Liam, the lord of a failing galactic territory. Think of it as the space version of a run-down feudal estate. Except with lasers.
Why is it so much fun?
Okay, first off, Liam isn’t exactly your typical evil overlord. He wants to be evil. Like, he actively tries. But things keep backfiring. Hilariously. It's like he's taking a "How to Be an Evil Overlord" class and failing every exam.
His heart is in the right place? Maybe. But his methods? Absolutely not. That's where the comedy gold is.

Think scheming backfires, unintended good deeds, and just a general aura of "I'm trying to be bad, I swear!"
He's surrounded by a crew of…interesting characters too. From a surprisingly competent (and probably long-suffering) butler to powerful mecha pilots, the supporting cast is gold. They are constantly cleaning up his messes. You have to give it to them, their patience is unparalleled.
It’s a parody of the whole ‘isekai’ genre. Isekai, for the uninitiated, is where someone from our world gets transported to another world (usually a fantasy or game world). This one takes the isekai tropes and runs with them…straight into a brick wall of absurdity.
Forget noble quests and chosen ones. This is about someone actively trying to avoid being a good guy. And failing spectacularly.

Quirks & Funny Details:
Liam’s obsession with being evil is…endearing? In a messed-up kind of way. He's constantly overthinking things, trying to find the most villainous course of action, only to end up making things better.
The political maneuvering is insane. Think "Game of Thrones," but with spaceships and more ridiculous hairstyles. Everyone's trying to backstab everyone else, and Liam's just trying to figure out how to look intimidating while accidentally fixing the galaxy.
The mecha battles are actually pretty cool too. They're not just mindless explosions. There's strategy, tactics, and…the occasional accidental act of heroism. Because of course.

There’s a lot of satire, too. It pokes fun at corporate greed, political corruption, and the whole idea of a perfect hero. Everything is over the top and absolutely insane.
The contrast between Liam’s intentions and his actions is the main comedic engine. He’ll be plotting a ruthless takeover one minute, and then accidentally funding a school for orphans the next. It's beautiful chaos.
Why Should You Check It Out?
If you're tired of the same old hero stories, this is a breath of fresh (if slightly toxic) air. It's a fun, lighthearted romp through a galaxy filled with ridiculous characters, convoluted plots, and a protagonist who's trying his hardest to be bad…and failing miserably.
It’s not going to win any literary awards, but it will make you laugh. And sometimes, that's all you need. It's the perfect anime or light novel series to unwind with after a long day. You don’t have to take it seriously.

Think of it as space opera meets office comedy meets "How to Be a Villain" instructional video…gone horribly, wonderfully wrong.
Seriously, give it a shot. You might just find yourself rooting for the "evil" lord…even if he doesn't want you to.
Who knows, maybe you'll learn a thing or two about accidental heroism. Or at least get a good laugh out of it.
And if you do, let me know what you think! We can compare notes on Liam's most spectacular failures (or accidental successes!).
