The Priest Dreaming Of A Dragon

So, you're not going to believe what I heard the other day. Seriously, grab your coffee – this is a good one. It's about a priest, Father Michael, and... wait for it... a dragon. Yep, a fire-breathing, treasure-hoarding dragon.

Now, Father Michael wasn't exactly slaying the dragon, or even preaching to it. He was dreaming about it. Every. Single. Night. Can you imagine? I mean, what does that even mean?

Apparently, this dragon was HUGE. Like, Godzilla-meeting-Smaug huge. And it would just... hang out. Sometimes breathing little puffs of smoke (adorable, right?), other times just, you know, existing majestically. Father Michael would wake up in a cold sweat, muttering prayers, and probably wondering if he needed a stronger cup of decaf. Maybe he just needs a new mattress? We've all been there.

But here's the kicker: the dragon wasn't evil. Not in the slightest. It was... benevolent. Like a giant, scaly, winged therapist. Seriously, what's up with that? Maybe Father Michael secretly wanted to fly?

Of course, this led to some internal conflict. I mean, dragons aren't exactly standard Sunday School material. It's usually angels and sheep, not mythical beasts with a penchant for shiny objects. He found himself questioning everything! Was this a test of faith? A sign? A weird side effect of those late-night cheese pizzas? (We've all been there too, let's be honest.)

He confided in Sister Agnes, the monastery's resident oracle (okay, she just reads tea leaves and has a lot of cats, but still). She listened intently, nodding sagely. Then, she declared: "The dragon represents your inner power, Michael. The fire... is your passion! The hoard... your untapped potential!"

Okay, so maybe she was laying it on a little thick. But you get the idea. It was all about embracing the "dragon" within. Apparently we all have dragons inside of us. Mine probably just sleeps and eats pizza.

The whole thing got me thinking though. What would I do if I dreamt of a dragon? Would I run screaming? Try to teach it tricks? Bribe it with my leftover lasagna? I'm leaning towards the lasagna option, just in case.

Father Michael, bless his heart, started to see the dragon differently. He began to explore his own passions, his own "inner hoard." He started a community garden, wrote poetry (bad poetry, but still!), and even organized a talent show. Apparently his hidden talent was juggling. Who knew?

And the dreams? They changed too. The dragon started taking him on flights over the countryside. Showing him breathtaking views. Sharing ancient wisdom (mostly about the importance of naps and shiny things). It was… cathartic, apparently. He started feeling like he understood something that he wasn't before.

Now, some people might say it's all just a dream. A figment of an overactive imagination. And hey, maybe it is! But I think there's something more to it. Maybe the dragon was a reminder that even priests, even all of us, have hidden depths, untapped potential, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of fire inside.

Or maybe it was the cheese pizza. Who knows? But either way, it makes for a pretty good story, don't you think?

And the best part? I heard Father Michael is now incorporating dragon imagery into his sermons. "Embrace your inner dragon!" he apparently shouts from the pulpit. I'd go to that church. Would you?

The moral of the story? Maybe we should all be dreaming of dragons. Or at least eating less cheese pizza before bed. Just a thought.
