Okay, witches, demons, and vampires! Let's talk about *A Discovery of Witches* Season 2, Episode 11. Did anyone else find themselves yelling at the screen? Because I sure did.
Time Travel Tantrums and Tudor Tangles
We all know time travel is messy. But this episode? Next-level chaos. I swear, trying to keep track of who was doing what, when, and where was harder than remembering where I put my keys (which, let's be honest, is a daily struggle).
And Matthew Clairmont being all angsty and brooding? Classic. It's like, "Dude, you're a vampire from centuries ago. Cheer up!"
The Queen's Gambit (Sort Of)
Okay, Queen Elizabeth was pretty awesome. Can we get a spin-off series about her, just being a badass monarch? I'd watch it.
Her interactions with Diana were gold. Though, I did raise an eyebrow at how quickly everyone seemed to accept that magic was real. Like, hello, a witch just conjured a storm in your drawing-room. Maybe a little more skepticism, people?
But speaking of Diana, her powers are seriously evolving! It's like she's leveling up in a video game. What will she be able to do next?
My Unpopular Opinion: Let's Talk About...Him.
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. Brace yourselves. I’m not entirely sure why everyone adores Matthew Clairmont so much.
I know, I know, he's brooding and mysterious. But sometimes he just comes across as a grumpy control freak. There, I said it!
Don't get me wrong, Matthew Goode is great. But the character? He just needs to chill a bit. Maybe a nice cup of chamomile tea would help?
Diana deserves the world, and sometimes I wonder if Matthew fully appreciates her. He's always so worried about protecting her that he sometimes forgets to just *listen* to her.
That Cliffhanger, Though!
Seriously, show, you can't just end an episode like that! The suspense is killing me. Who is this mysterious figure at the end?
My bet is on some long-lost relative of Matthew, probably someone even more ancient and powerful. Or maybe it's just a really confused time traveler who took a wrong turn.
Either way, I'm officially counting down the days until the next episode. My snacks are ready, my couch is comfy, and my ability to suspend disbelief is fully charged.
The Verdict?
Episode 11 was a wild ride. Time travel shenanigans, royal intrigue, and a grumpy vampire. What's not to love (or at least, mildly tolerate)?
I'm giving it a solid B+. Could have used a bit more humor, and maybe a *slightly* less intense Matthew. But overall, a fun and engaging episode that leaves me wanting more. Bring on the finale!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch all the Queen Elizabeth scenes. Because, let's be honest, she's the real MVP of this episode.
"By the Virgin Queen!"
