Ciao, Italia! (or… Ciao, Disaster?)
Okay, let's talk about America's Next Top Model Season 11, Episode 12. We’re in Italy, folks! Land of pasta, art, and… questionable photoshoots.
This week's challenge was all about posing with Italian men. And by Italian men, I mean mostly stiff, awkward extras.
Seriously, some of them looked like they'd rather be anywhere else. Who can blame them?
The Photoshoot: Gladiator Gone Wrong
The main event? A gladiator-themed photoshoot. Think togas, swords, and posing in a dusty arena.
Sounds epic, right? Except it wasn't. It was mostly just… awkward.
The girls had to channel their inner warrior. Some did, others… not so much.
Let's be honest, Tyra's concepts were getting a little *out there* by this point. Was this really showcasing high fashion?
My Unpopular Opinion: Marjorie Was ROBBED
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. But I need to say it: I think Marjorie got a raw deal this episode.
Everyone always said she was awkward. She was quirky but I thought her photos were pretty damn good.
The judges said she looked uncomfortable. I call it *artistic interpretation*! She was supposed to be a warrior.
And her bone structure? To die for! She really did possess potential to be America's Next Top Model.
Meanwhile, some of the other girls served up...well, let's just say they looked like they'd never seen a sword before.
Their "fierce" looked more like "mildly confused." But that's just me.
Sharaun's Exit: Was it her time?
Sharaun was the one sent packing. I liked Sharaun. She was unique and brought something fresh to the competition.
Did she deserve to go this week? Maybe. Her photo wasn't great.
Still, I felt like some other girls were consistently coasting. It's all subjective, I guess.
The judges' critique was a bit harsh, in my opinion. But hey, that's reality TV.
The Drama: Catfights and Side-Eye
Of course, it wouldn't be ANTM without some drama! This episode had its fair share of side-eye and whispered insults.
The girls were getting stressed. Pressure makes diamonds... or contestants who can't stand each other.
It was like watching a high school cafeteria at lunchtime. Except with more designer clothes and less pizza.
Tyra's visit and peptalks are one of the best parts of the show, I really do believe that she genuinely wanted the girls to suceed.
Final Thoughts: Italy, We Hardly Knew Ye
Overall, this episode was a bit of a mixed bag. The location was beautiful, the photoshoot was… interesting.
And the judging? Well, that's always up for debate.
But hey, at least we got to see some questionable Italian accents! And for that, I am eternally grateful.
I do miss the over-the-top drama from the early seasons of ANTM. Remember the weave removal scandal?
Oh, the simpler times. Now, it's all "smize" and "pot ledom."
So, what do you think? Was Marjorie robbed? Was Sharaun's elimination fair? Let me know your thoughts!
Until next time, keep smizing (or not)!
