When I hit play on an episode of Attack on Titan, my worries melt away. Giant titans trying to eat humanity? Somehow, that's more relaxing than my actual life.
Don't judge! It's escapism at its finest. Plus, the theme songs are ridiculously catchy. Try getting "Guren no Yumiya" out of your head. I dare you.
The Joy of Shonen
Then there's shonen. The action! The friendship! The unwavering belief in yourself! Who wouldn't want a little of that in their lives?
Naruto taught me to never give up. One Piece showed me the importance of friendship. Dragon Ball Z... well, it taught me that screaming really loud can sometimes solve problems. Maybe.
Okay, maybe not that last one. But you get the idea. It's fun, inspiring, and… dare I say… educational?
You, On The Other Hand…
Now, here's where things get a little tricky. I love you. I really do. But sometimes, your… let's call them "interests"... don't spark joy in the same way anime does.
It's not that your stamp collection is inherently bad. It's just… not a giant robot fighting a monster, you know? Apples and oranges.
And that's okay! We're all different. That's what makes the world go 'round (or something like that).
The Awkward Silence
Have you ever tried explaining the plot of Neon Genesis Evangelion to someone who's never watched anime? The blank stares are truly a sight to behold.
It usually ends with me muttering something about giant robots, teenage angst, and Freudian symbolism. Then I quickly change the subject to the weather.
But hey, at least I tried! I just hope they don't think I'm completely insane. Although, let's be real, the jury's still out on that one.

The point is, we all have our weird little quirks. Mine just happens to be a deeply ingrained love for animated stories from Japan.
