Anos Voldigoad The Misfit Of Demon King Academy

Okay, let's talk about something a little controversial. It’s about a certain Demon King. Specifically, Anos Voldigoad from The Misfit of Demon King Academy. Now, don’t get me wrong; I enjoy the show.

But, I have a confession to make. Anos? He’s…a little too much, right?

The Overpowered Protagonist Problem

We all love a good underdog story. We root for the little guy. But Anos? He's the opposite of an underdog. He's an overdog. A super-duper-overdog!

It feels like he's constantly flexing. Every episode is a reminder of how incredibly, unbelievably, ridiculously powerful he is. Is anyone else tired of the power flexing?

Sometimes, it just feels like watching someone play a video game on god mode. Where's the tension? Where's the struggle?

Is He Really a "Misfit?"

The title calls him a “Misfit.” But is he, really? He gets into the academy and is instantly better than everyone. In everything.

Sure, people don't believe he's the real Demon King. But that's because they're dumb, not because he's actually bad at anything. They are simply too weak to comprehend him!

Being disbelieved isn't the same as being a misfit. A misfit is someone who struggles to fit in. Anos just doesn’t care what others think because he's too powerful to care!

The Charisma Conundrum

He's supposed to be charismatic, right? The girls flock to him. Everyone respects (or fears) him. But is it really charisma, or just…power?

Maybe it’s just me. But I feel like people are drawn to him because he could obliterate them with a thought. Where's the genuine connection?

Wouldn't it be more interesting if someone actually challenged him on a personal level? Not just on a power level, but on his ideals.

The Mary Sue Argument (Hear Me Out!)

I know, I know, the term "Mary Sue" is overused. But sometimes, it fits. Anos embodies many of the classic traits. He's amazing at everything. Everyone loves him (or fears him). He has no real flaws.

Flaws are what make characters relatable. They're what make them human (or, you know, demon). Without flaws, they feel…flat. Even if they're ridiculously powerful.

Maybe that’s why he’s hard to connect with on a deeper level. It is just my unpopular opinion.

It's Still Fun Though!

Look, I'm not saying The Misfit of Demon King Academy is bad. It's entertaining! It's a fun power fantasy.

Sometimes, you just want to watch someone effortlessly crush their enemies. And Anos certainly delivers on that. He's a walking, talking, magic-wielding nuke!

But maybe, just maybe, a little bit of struggle would make him even more compelling. Or at least, a little less…perfect.

Ultimately, it’s all subjective. Maybe you love everything about Anos Voldigoad. And that's totally fine! But I think the show would be even better if the main character didn't already know the answers to everything.
