Okay, Bookworm fans, let's talk. Specifically, let's chat about Part 3 Volume 4. Ready for some slightly spicy takes?
Ferdinand, We Need to Talk
Look, I adore Ferdinand. He's the stoic, magically powerful, secretly cinnamon roll type. But in this volume? I found him a little… annoying. I said it!
It felt like he was deliberately keeping Main in the dark. Like, "Oh, I know EVERYTHING, but you'll find out eventually... maybe."
Come on, man! A little transparency would be nice. Is that an unpopular opinion? Probably. Do I care? Not really.
Sylvester's Shenanigans
Speaking of annoying… Sylvester! That guy is a walking, talking chaos generator. He's hilarious, don't get me wrong.
But his antics in this volume sometimes made me want to reach into the book and shake him. Seriously, dude, get it together!
Especially regarding his interactions with Rozemyne. He's like a mischievous older brother... who happens to be the Aub.
The Politics, Oh the Politics!
Let's be honest. The political maneuvering in this volume got a little dense. Alliances, betrayals, hidden agendas... my brain started to hurt.
I get it, it's important for the plot. But sometimes I just wanted to yell, "Can't we just focus on making books?!"
Is anyone else with me? Just me? Okay, moving on.
The Devouring
Okay, let's talk about the Devouring. It's a serious issue, obviously. This volume really highlighted the desperation and fear surrounding it.
The lengths people go to, the sacrifices they make... it's heartbreaking. Rozemyne's empathy is truly tested.
It adds a layer of depth to the story that's both compelling and unsettling.
Fran, You're a Star
Let's give some appreciation to Fran. He's the unsung hero of this volume. Always calm, always collected, always ready with a solution.
He's the ultimate support system for Rozemyne. Plus, his loyalty is unwavering. We stan a dedicated attendant!
Seriously, Fran deserves a medal. And maybe a nice, relaxing vacation.
And the recipes. Can't forget the recipes. This volume continues the series tradition of making me hungry. Time for some Gil Fish perhaps?
Rozemyne's Growth
Despite my Ferdinand frustrations, Rozemyne continues to grow. She's still a book-obsessed maniac, of course.
But she's also learning to navigate the complexities of her new world. It's fascinating to watch her evolve.
She's making tough decisions, taking risks, and even starting to understand the political landscape. Slowly, very slowly.
So, there you have it. A few of my possibly controversial thoughts on Part 3 Volume 4. What are your opinions?
Don't be afraid to disagree! Let's discuss in the comments. Just be nice, okay? Happy reading!
Just don't tell Ferdinand I said any of this.
Especially about the cinnamon roll comment.
