Okay, let's talk about Attack on Titan Season 4. More specifically, let’s talk about its release schedule. Or, as I like to call it, the great anime scheduling mystery.
Remember waiting? Like, *really* waiting? It felt like forever between episodes.
The Long, Long Wait (and My Unpopular Opinion)
Season 4 was divided into parts, which is fine. Except the gaps between them felt… excessive. Don't @ me, but I think they were doing it to torture us.
Each break felt like an eternity. Were they finding more Titans to animate? Did Eren steal the production budget to fund his rumbling?
I know, I know, animation takes time. But still! The agony was real. I checked for new episodes approximately every five minutes.
Part 1 Problems
Part 1 started strong. But then came the cliffhangers. Oh, the cliffhangers!
They left us hanging off a Titan’s finger. We were left to question everything. What would become of Paradis? And what was Reiner thinking?
Waiting for Part 2 felt like waiting for Christmas. Except Christmas only happens once a year. Attack on Titan part releases felt less frequent.
Part 2... Still Waiting
Part 2 finally arrived. More action, more drama, more existential dread. It was exactly what we wanted... and needed.
But did they learn their lesson? Nope! Another break. My patience was wearing thin.
At this point, I was starting to develop trust issues. I didn't know when to trust any internet release date. Was it real? Or was it just another cruel joke by MAPPA?
The Final Chapters (Seriously?)
Then came "The Final Chapters." Plural. Chapters. Like it was a novel.
Even the *finality* had multiple parts! It was like a never-ending buffet. I felt like a bloated Titan, full of anime and desperately craving closure.
Honestly, I’m convinced they invented a new unit of time to measure the wait. It's called an "AoEon". One AoEon equals the time between Attack on Titan Season 4 parts.
Was It Worth It? (Probably)
Okay, despite my whining, I have to admit something. The animation was stunning.
The story was epic and soul-crushing. My love for Attack on Titan is vast and complicated.
Maybe the breaks made the experience richer. Maybe all the pain made us appreciate it more. Maybe...but I'm still a little salty.
Final Thoughts (and a Plea)
So, would I do it all again? Probably. Am I secretly hoping for a Season 5, even though the story is done? Maybe.
But please, anime gods, if you ever bring back Attack on Titan… give us weekly releases! My heart can't handle another "AoEon" of waiting.
And one more thing: Mikasa deserves all the happiness in the world. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
