Okay, let's talk Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 8, shall we? I have some thoughts. Maybe some slightly spicy, possibly unpopular thoughts.
Beast Titan's Baseball Practice
First off, the Beast Titan? Still creepy. But also, kind of hilarious in this episode. Seriously, that boulder-throwing scene? It felt less "apocalyptic horror" and more "Beast Titan's impromptu baseball practice."
I mean, come on! He was practically warming up his pitching arm. Did anyone else imagine him yelling, "Strike three!" after smashing the wall?
And yes, I know, people died. Tragic. But the sheer absurdity of the situation? It was oddly amusing, in a dark humor sort of way.
Connie's Village: Still Suspicious
Let's move on to Connie's village. Guys, it's still weird, right? Like, super-duper weird. That Titan on the house? That can't be just me, right?
I get that the show is trying to build suspense. But this whole "Titanized villagers" thing? It's giving me major heebie-jeebies. And Connie seems… oddly unbothered, considering his entire village is potentially Titan fodder.
Okay, maybe "unbothered" is a strong word. More like "conveniently oblivious." I'm calling it now: Connie is somehow connected to this mess. Or at least, he's going to be very, very soon.
Reiner and Bertholdt: The Award for Best (Worst) Confession
Now, for the big reveal. Reiner and Bertholdt dropping the bombshell? Iconic. But also, incredibly awkward. Imagine being Eren in that moment.
"Hey, Eren, remember that time we fought Titans together? Yeah, well, surprise! We are Titans!" Talk about a conversation killer.
And the whole "we had no choice" excuse? Please. I'm not buying it. Especially Reiner. That dude always seemed a little too eager to smash things.
The Eren Stare-Down
Eren's reaction? Perfectly understandable. That thousand-yard stare? I felt that in my soul. He just wanted to eat lunch in peace!
Honestly, I would have reacted the same way. Someone telling me they're a Titan while I'm trying to enjoy my bread? Unacceptable. Straight to jail.
I predict a lot of shouting and punching in the next episode. Bring it on! My popcorn is ready.
Ymir and Historia: Secret Keepers?
And what about Ymir and Historia? Always lurking in the background, exchanging knowing glances. What are they hiding?
I'm getting some serious "we know more than we're letting on" vibes from them. Especially Ymir. She's definitely playing a longer game than anyone realizes.
Are they good guys? Bad guys? Just really, really complicated neutral guys? At this point, your guess is as good as mine. But I'm invested! Very invested.
Unpopular Opinion Time: It Was a Tad Slow
Okay, here it comes. My unpopular opinion: This episode, while crucial for plot development, was a little slow. There, I said it!
All the talking and less action. I'm not saying I don't appreciate the exposition. It was necessary. I was expecting a little bit more Titan smashing.
But hey, that's just my two cents. Overall, a solid episode. Just hoping for some serious Titan-on-Titan action next time around. Fingers crossed!
