Marley Gets a Rude Awakening (Again!)
Okay, picture this: You're having a normal day. Maybe you're sipping some tea, reading the newspaper, generally feeling pretty good about things.
Suddenly, a giant dude with no skin smashes through your roof. Not ideal, right?
That’s basically what happened to Marley in Attack on Titan Season 4, Episode 2, "Midnight Train." Only instead of a giant dude, it was a whole squadron of Survey Corps soldiers, led by a certain angsty hero we all know and love: Eren Yeager.
Survey Corps: Stealth Mode... Kinda
Let's be honest, stealth isn't exactly their strong suit. Think of it as trying to sneak an elephant through a china shop – loud, messy, and guaranteed to break a few things (or a few dozen soldiers).
The episode opens with the Survey Corps descending upon Marley. They're supposed to be a surprise, but let's just say their entrance was more "fireworks display" than "ninja operation."
Still, you have to admire their commitment. They jumped out of a zeppelin!
Eren's Got a Plan (Maybe?)
Eren seems to be calling the shots now, and he’s...different. Remember that kid who just wanted to kill Titans? That kid's gone.
This Eren is colder, more calculated, and possibly plotting to overthrow the entire world order. Or maybe he just wants a really good nap. Who knows?
He's definitely got a secret agenda. He is like a chess master who is 10 steps ahead of everyone.
War is Messy (and Explodes a Lot)
This episode throws you right into the middle of a full-blown war. Explosions, gunfire, Titans smashing things – it's a chaotic ballet of destruction. And to be honest, it is also super cool to watch.
Attack on Titan has always been brutal, but this episode takes it to another level. This isn't just about fighting monsters; it's about human beings killing each other, and that's always a bummer.
War is never fun, but at least the animation looks great!
The Jaw Titan's Got Jokes (Sort Of)
Poor Jaw Titan. He tries his best, but he just keeps getting knocked around like a ping pong ball. He's the underdog we can't help but root for, even though he's on the "wrong" side.
He's the Wile E. Coyote of the Titan world, always coming up with elaborate plans that inevitably backfire spectacularly.
I feel you, Jaw Titan. I really do.
Gabi: The Kid With the Gun (and the Attitude)
Then there's Gabi. This kid is determined to prove herself as a worthy warrior, and she's got the skills to back it up. She is like a tiny powerhouse of determination and destruction.
She is a little scary. But you've got to respect her drive. She is going to be important later, for sure.
But beneath all that bravado, there's still a kid who's been brainwashed into thinking she's fighting for the "right" side. It's a tough situation.
Final Thoughts: Hold on Tight!
Episode 2 of Season 4 is a wild ride from start to finish. It's action-packed, emotionally charged, and leaves you with more questions than answers.
One thing's for sure: Attack on Titan is not pulling any punches. This is a show that's not afraid to challenge its viewers and explore the dark side of humanity.
Strap yourselves in, folks. It's gonna be a bumpy ride, but it is also worth it.
