Okay, Let's Talk *B: The Beginning* Season 2 Episode 1
Right, let's dive straight in. Season 2 of B: The Beginning dropped, and naturally, I binged it. Episode 1, though? Hmmm...
Anyone else feel a *tiny* bit underwhelmed? Don't get me wrong, the animation is still gorgeous. But something felt...off.
Where's the Mystery?
The first season was all about the *mystery*. Who is Killer B? What's going on with these weird powers? We were hooked!
Episode 1 of Season 2 felt more like setting the stage. A lot of exposition. Not enough...oomph.
Maybe that's just me? Am I alone in craving more immediate action?
The Stakes Feel...Lower?
Remember when Koku was fighting for his life (and the lives of others)? The tension was palpable. We were invested in *every* scene.
Season 2, Episode 1, felt like a warm-up. It's like the writers were saying, "Okay, everyone back in your seats! The show's starting... eventually."
I'm hoping the stakes ramp up quickly. Give us something to bite our nails about!
Introducing...New Characters?
We meet some new faces in this episode. Fine, I guess. But do we *need* more characters?
The existing cast is already pretty sprawling. Are we just adding more names to remember?
I'm always wary when shows introduce too many new characters at once. It can dilute the plot. Let's hope it doesn't happen here.
The *Animation*, Though...
Okay, I have to give credit where it's due. The animation is stunning. Production I.G. always delivers.
The fight scenes (even the few we got) were fluid and dynamic. Visual candy, for sure. That gorgeous world building still exists!
It's a shame the story didn't quite match the visual flair. Fingers crossed it improves!
My (Possibly Unpopular) Opinion
Here's the thing: I'm not saying Episode 1 was *bad*. It just wasn't as captivating as I'd hoped.
Maybe my expectations were too high? The first season set the bar pretty high, after all.
But, if Episode 1 was supposed to get me hyped for the rest of the season? It missed the mark.
It felt like a bit of a slow start. A bit too much set-up, not enough payoff. A prologue, not an episode.
Hoping for More
Look, I'm still a fan of *B: The Beginning*. I'm rooting for it!
I'm hoping the remaining episodes will pick up the pace and deliver the suspense and intrigue we crave. Especially around ***Koku***!
Consider this a gentle nudge to the writers. Give us the mystery! Give us the action! Give us the awesome soundtrack!
What Did *You* Think?
But hey, that's just my opinion! What did you think of Season 2, Episode 1?
Did you love it? Did you hate it? Or were you somewhere in between?
Let me know in the comments! Let's discuss. Maybe you can convince me I'm wrong (or maybe I can convince you!).
Let’s keep the conversation going about the *new season*.
In the meantime, I'll be watching the next episode. Because, let's be honest, I'm still hooked.
And maybe, just maybe, I'll be eating my words next week.
