Sailing into the Sunset (Almost!) with Below Deck Med Season 5 Finale
Okay, people, gather 'round! Let's dish about the final episode of Below Deck Med Season 5. Remember all the drama? It feels like it was just yesterday that Captain Sandy was navigating choppy waters (both literally and figuratively!).
This episode was like the last slice of a delicious, but slightly over-baked, cake. Still enjoyable, but you're kinda ready to move on. The guests were, thankfully, less demanding than a toddler who just discovered candy.
But let's be real, we're here for the crew, not the charter guests! It's like watching your favorite group of (sometimes dysfunctional) friends try to make it through one last, slightly awkward, family dinner.
Farewell, Ferraris!
The episode started with the guests... still being guests. They enjoyed their lavish breakfast, probably complaining about how their champagne wasn't bubbly enough (just kidding... mostly!). They hopped on a jet ski, looked rich, and then... poof! They were gone.
And suddenly, it was cleaning time! The most glamorous part of yachting, right? NOT! Though, I'd rather scrub toilets on a superyacht than clean my own bathroom, any day. At least there's a view!
Speaking of views, the scenery in Croatia was absolutely stunning. I'm pretty sure that's the real star of the show, even more than Malia White and her dedication to maritime law.
Romance, Rumors, and... Regret?
Of course, no Below Deck finale would be complete without some relationship drama. We had Jessica More and Robert Westergaard trying to navigate their confusing… situation. It's like watching a slow-motion train wreck, but with nicer outfits.
Honestly, I'm still not entirely sure what their deal was. Were they in love? Were they just bored? Were they contractually obligated to create some sort of tension? The world may never know. He didn't get the fireworks he expected. Ouch.
And then there was Alex Radcliffe. Sweet, lovable Alex, who was clearly crushing on Bugsy Drake harder than I crush on a good reality TV show. You go, Alex, chasing after love in the high seas!
Tipping Point
The tip meeting is always a highlight. Everyone holds their breath, hoping for a massive payout that will allow them to finally escape the yachting life and open that alpaca farm they've always dreamed of (or, you know, just pay their rent). This group received a substantial tip. Cheers!
Captain Sandy gave a nice speech, as always, reminding everyone how amazing they are, even though she spent the entire season micromanaging them. You gotta love the irony.
There's so much to unpack. The final dinner was a chance for everyone to let loose, reflect on the season, and probably talk smack about each other behind their backs (it wouldn't be Below Deck otherwise!).
Setting Sail for New Adventures (and New Seasons?)
As the crew packed their bags and prepared to disembark, you could feel the bittersweetness in the air. They survived another season of demanding guests, cramped quarters, and questionable boatmances.
What's next for these salty sea dogs? Will they find true love? Will they ever escape the endless cycle of laundry and demanding billionaires? Only time (and future seasons of Below Deck) will tell.
Overall, the season finale was a satisfying conclusion to a wild ride. Full of laughter, tears, and enough yachting jargon to make your head spin. Until next time, fair winds and following seas!
