Okay, let's talk about Big Sky. Season 2. Disney Plus UK. We need to address the elephant in the room.
Was Season 2 a Bit...Much?
I'm just going to say it. And brace yourself. I think Season 2 of Big Sky was...wild. Maybe a *little* too wild?
Don't get me wrong! I adore the show. I was glued to my screen every week when it finally arrived on Disney Plus UK.
But sometimes, I felt like they threw *everything* at the wall. And then threw the wall at something else.
The Unpopular Opinion Zone
Here's where I get controversial. Remember when the whole *renovation project gone wrong, drugs hidden in the walls* storyline kicked off? It felt…forced.
I missed the straightforward creepiness of Ronald from Season 1. He was a genuinely terrifying villain. Now we got *multiple* villains, some more believable than others.
And the love interests! Suddenly everyone was falling for everyone else. A small town filled with so many possible love triangles... and squares... and maybe even pentagons?
I understand that shows need to evolve. They need to keep things interesting. But did we *really* need quite so many new characters?
It felt like Montana suddenly had the population of New York City. All somehow involved in highly illegal activities.
The Good Stuff (Because It Wasn't All Bad!)
Okay, I'm not *totally* hating. Kylie Bunbury and Katheryn Winnick still slayed. Cassie and Jenny are always fantastic.
Their chemistry is undeniable. They can solve any crime, no matter how convoluted, with their amazing partnership.
And some of the new characters *did* grow on me. Even if it took a while. And a lot of exposition.
The scenery was, as always, breathtaking. Seriously, Montana is gorgeous. I want to visit even if it's apparently a hotbed of crime.
Plus, the twists were still... twisty! I didn't see half of them coming. Even if sometimes I wished I had.
Disney Plus UK: Our Saviour?
Thank goodness for Disney Plus UK! It brought us Big Sky eventually. Even if we had to wait a little longer than our American friends.
Streaming services are truly amazing. Where else can you binge-watch a show about kidnappings and drug cartels while eating popcorn in your pyjamas?
Seriously, the convenience is unmatched.
So, What's the Verdict?
Big Sky Season 2 was a rollercoaster. A bumpy, slightly off-the-rails rollercoaster. But still a rollercoaster!
It's not *bad*. It's just... a lot. Maybe dial it back a *tiny* bit in future seasons? Just a thought.
I'll still be watching. Because let's be honest, I'm completely invested. And who knows what crazy shenanigans Montana will throw at us next?
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I'm going to go re-watch Season 1. For the *simplicity* of it all. And maybe have some more popcorn.
What are your thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Let me know! I'm ready for a debate. (Or maybe just a shared therapy session.)
