Breath Of The Wild The Bird In The Mountains

Okay, let's talk about something...controversial. Something Zelda fans might yell at me for.

It's about Breath of the Wild. Specifically, that giant, feathered friend up in the mountains.

Vah Medoh: More Annoying Than Awesome?

I'm talking about Vah Medoh, the Divine Beast perched atop Hebra Peak. You know, the one piloted by the fallen Rito champion, Revali.

Beautiful scenery? Absolutely. A cool, soaring theme? No doubt. But let's be honest, isn't it...a little tedious?

I know, I know. Blasphemy! But hear me out.

First, there's just getting there. Remember all the cold resistance gear you needed? That's a big effort.

Crafting spicy peppers, finding warm doublets... it's a whole side quest before you even *start* the main quest.

And the wind! Don't forget the wind. Trying to climb a mountain when a blizzard's trying to blow you off is no fun.

Then we're inside Vah Medoh. The puzzles aren't exactly brain-busters, are they?

Tilt the whole bird? Okay, I got it. Shoot the glowing eyes? Got that too.

Compared to the other Divine Beasts, the interior felt...simple. Am I alone in this?

And then there's Revali. He's supposed to be this amazing archer, this proud Rito warrior.

But he's also kind of a jerk. His attitude is grating, and his constant need to show off gets old quick.

I understand the backstory, his resentment of Link. But that doesn't make him less annoying!

Okay, Revali's Gale is undeniably useful. Launching yourself into the air is a game-changer.

But even *that* feels a little too easy. Does it make exploring a little too convenient?

Maybe I miss the challenge of scaling a massive cliff face. Maybe I'm just a masochist.

Let's face it, the other Divine Beasts are just more memorable.

Vah Ruta's emotional storyline, Vah Rudania's fiery depths, Vah Naboris's intense electrical puzzles...

Vah Medoh just doesn't quite reach the same heights. (Pun intended, obviously).

Look, I love Breath of the Wild. It's a masterpiece. It's one of my all-time favorite games.

I just think Vah Medoh is the weakest link. It's not *bad*, it's just...forgettable.

So, am I crazy? Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I about to be roasted by the entire Zelda fandom?

Maybe I just need to play it again. But probably not anytime soon.

For now, I will stick to Revali's gale, but stay clear of the mountains for a bit.
