Okay, let's talk about By the Grace of the Gods. Specifically, episode 4. I have some thoughts.
Slimes, Slimes Everywhere!
Seriously, how many slimes does Ryouma need? He's got like, a whole army of the squishy guys. I half expected them to start forming a slime Voltron.
Don't get me wrong, they're cute. And surprisingly useful. But maybe dial back the slime production a notch? Just a thought.
A Questionable Business Decision?
Ryouma starting a laundry service feels... random. He's got magical powers and like, five billion slimes. And he chooses laundry?
I guess everyone needs clean clothes. But couldn't he have invented like, self-folding laundry powered by slimes? Missed opportunity, if you ask me.
I mean, imagine a whole city powered by slime-generated electricity. We'd be talking about a slime empire, not just a laundry mat. Think bigger, Ryouma!
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Okay, here it comes. My unpopular opinion. I wasn't *thrilled* with episode 4. I know, I know, blasphemy! But hear me out.
It felt a little... slow. Like we were just checking off boxes on a "slice of life" to-do list. Laundry? Check. Making friends? Check. More slimes? Triple check!
Where's the drama? The tension? The impending doom that makes you bite your nails and scream at the TV? (Okay, maybe not impending doom, but something!)
The Characters Are Still Great, Though.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the characters. Ryouma is endearingly awkward. And the supporting cast is charming.
The kids are adorable! I wouldn't mind adopting them. Seriously, can I get a mini-Eliaria of my own?
But even great characters need a compelling plot. And episode 4 felt like it was treading water. Just my humble opinion, of course.
Predicting the Future (Maybe)
So, what do I think is coming next? More slimes, obviously. Maybe a slime-powered transportation system?
I'm hoping for some actual conflict. A rival laundry service? A slime-eating monster? Something to spice things up a bit.
Maybe Ryouma will accidentally invent a new type of slime that threatens to take over the world. Now that's an episode I'd watch!
Final Thoughts (and a Plea)
Look, I'm not saying episode 4 was *bad*. It was just... uneventful. Like a cup of lukewarm tea on a rainy Tuesday.
I still have faith in By the Grace of the Gods. It has a lot of potential. And I'm still rooting for Ryouma and his slime army.
But please, anime gods, give us some excitement! Some adventure! Some reason to stay up late on Sunday nights! I'm begging you.
Just give me a giant slime boss fight. Is that too much to ask?
Alright, that's my rant over. What did you think of episode 4? Let me know in the comments! (But be nice, I bruise easily.)
