The Usual Suspects (And My Opinions)
Of course, Mariska Hargitay is back as Olivia Benson. Can't have SVU without her. She's practically the Statue of Liberty of the precinct.
Unpopular opinion: Benson solves every case with the power of concerned looks. It's effective, I'll give her that.
Ice-T as Fin Tutuola is another staple. He’s been there forever, basically a piece of precinct furniture.
He brings the street smarts. And some seriously awesome one-liners. I live for his sarcasm.
The Detectives We Love (Or Tolerate)
Then there's Dominick "Sonny" Carisi Jr. played by Peter Scanavino. He went from detective to lawyer!
I still miss him in the squad room, though. He had that awkward charm. He was like the golden retriever of SVU.
And let's not forget Octavio Pisano as Joe Velasco. He joined the team in season 23. He was the new kid on the block.
He was fine, I guess. But I was still mourning Carisi's departure from the detective life.
Guest Stars and One-Off Wonders
SVU loves its guest stars. Season 23 was no exception.

Even if I do think Benson solves crimes with her eyebrow raises. It's a superpower, I tell ya.
