Ever Wondered If You Could Survive in Attack on Titan?
Let's face it, we've all watched Attack on Titan and secretly wondered how we'd fare against those colossal titans. Now, you don't have to just wonder. You can create your own character and see if they'd make it to the Scout Regiment or become titan fodder!
Step 1: What's Your Story?
Forget being a brooding hero destined to save humanity. Maybe you're the village baker, incredibly skilled at making bread that titans are strangely allergic to. Or perhaps you're a clumsy librarian who accidentally discovers ancient texts revealing the titans' weakness (besides the nape, obviously!).
Don't be afraid to be silly! The more unexpected, the better. Your backstory will inform everything else.
Step 2: Gear Up (or Not)!
Okay, so ODM gear is pretty vital, right? Wrong! Maybe your character is terrified of heights and has developed an ingenious ground-based titan-fighting technique involving tripwires and really, really sharp garden tools. Think MacGyver meets the apocalypse.
Or, perhaps your character is a pacifist who uses incredibly loud bagpipes to disorient the titans. The possibilities are endless. Maybe they're a talented artist, distracting the titans with stunning portraits before their comrades strike.
Step 3: Personality is Key!
Are you stoic and determined like Mikasa? Or a wild card like Hange Zoë? Or maybe you're just constantly stressed out and complaining, like a relatable everyman (or everywoman) amidst the titan chaos.
Give your character quirks and flaws. Make them believable, even in this unbelievable world. Imagine a soldier whose biggest fear is pigeons. It adds a layer of humor and humanity!
Step 4: Titan Time!
This is where it gets interesting. How does your character react to a titan encounter? Do they bravely face the threat head-on? Do they hide behind a barrel, praying for a swift (and hopefully painless) end? Or do they accidentally stumble upon a solution?
Maybe your baker realizes that the titan is attracted to the smell of freshly baked bread and uses it to lure them into a trap. The key is to play to your character's strengths (and weaknesses!). Think about it, do they bravely fight the titans, or do they cleverly evade danger using the skills they already have?
Step 5: The Friends (and Enemies) You Make Along the Way
Who are your character's allies? Who are their rivals? Are they constantly bickering with Eren? Or are they secretly in love with Levi (join the club!)? Think about how your character interacts with the established cast.
Maybe your character is best friends with Conny, swapping jokes to keep their spirits up in the face of certain doom. Or maybe they're constantly getting into trouble with Sasha, stealing food from the mess hall. Everyone needs friends (or frenemies) in the apocalypse.
Don't Be Afraid to Fail (Gloriously)!
Not every character can be a hero. Embrace the possibility of failure. It's what makes the story interesting! Maybe your character trips and falls right into a titan's mouth. It's dark, but it's also hilarious (in a morbid kind of way).
The point is to have fun and let your imagination run wild. Who knows, maybe your character will become the next big thing in the Attack on Titan universe...or at least a memorable footnote!
So, grab a pen and paper (or fire up your favorite character creator) and start building your AoT alter ego. You might be surprised at what you come up with!
