Okay, confession time. I just got my hands on the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train DVD. And… maybe, just maybe, I'm a tiny bit underwhelmed? Don't throw your Nichirin blades at me just yet!

The Hype Train Was… a Bit Too Hyped?

Look, I love Demon Slayer. Tanjiro's a cinnamon roll. Nezuko is the cutest demon ever. Zenitsu? Well, he’s… Zenitsu. But the Mugen Train movie? It felt a little long for what it was.

Everyone went absolutely bananas over it. Record-breaking box office! Crying in cinemas! I went in expecting to have my socks knocked off. My socks are still firmly on my feet, folks.

Okay, here's where I risk eternal damnation in the fandom. The plot felt… predictable. Bad guy puts people to sleep. Tanjiro & crew fight dreams. Big boss shows up.

It was a bit of a "Monster of the Week" episode, but stretched out to movie length. And let's be honest, some of those dream sequences dragged on a bit. I almost dozed off myself!

Rengoku: Heroic, Sure. Overhyped Heroic? Maybe?

Now, for the big one. Prepare for maximum internet outrage. Rengoku. Everyone loves Rengoku. He's inspiring. He's strong. He has a booming voice.

I get it. He's a cool character. But did we really need the endless crying and meme-ing after his… unfortunate demise? It felt like overkill.

He basically did what any good Hashira would do. He fought valiantly to protect others. Was it tragic? Yes. Was it the most earth-shattering moment in anime history? I'm not so sure.

Don't Get Me Wrong, It's Still Good!

I'm not saying the Mugen Train movie is bad. It's definitely entertaining. The fight scenes are awesome. The animation is superb. The music is epic.

But for all the hype it received, it just didn't quite live up to the expectations. It's a solid addition to the Demon Slayer canon, but not the masterpiece some claim it to be.

The DVD Experience: Worth It?

So, should you buy the DVD? If you're a die-hard Demon Slayer fan, absolutely. The extra features and crisp visuals are worth it.

If you're on the fence, maybe rent it first. Or just rewatch the series. Because let's face it, the core story is where the real magic happens.

Ultimately, Mugen Train is a fun ride. Just don't expect it to completely change your life. Maybe pack a pillow, just in case those dream sequences get a little… too real. And brace yourself for the feels when Rengoku yells "UMAI!". Just...maybe don't cry too much.
