Okay, let's talk Demon Slayer. Specifically, that episode.
Season 2, Episode 10. You know the one. Gets everyone talking!
The Hype Train
Everyone was going crazy, right? Twitter exploded. Friends wouldn't stop texting.
"OMG! Best episode EVER!" That was basically the general vibe.
But…and this is where I might lose some of you… I wasn't blown away. There, I said it!
Prepare for Unpopular Opinions
Look, I love Demon Slayer. I really do!
The animation? Stunning. The characters? Adorable and awesome.
But was Episode 10 the pinnacle of anime perfection? Hmmm… Let's dive in.
First of all, the crying. So. Much. Crying!
Tanjiro cries. Nezuko cries. Even some demons seemed like they were about to tear up!
I get it, emotions are high. But my tear ducts were getting tired!
The Flashiness Factor
The fight scenes were undeniably gorgeous. So flashy!
Swirling colors! Epic explosions! My eyeballs were doing gymnastics.
But sometimes, it felt like style over substance. A little too much spectacle.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort. But I wanted more impact, less… sparklers.
And Uzui Tengen? Okay, he's cool. Super flamboyant, got it.
But three wives? Really? Felt a bit much.
It's like the writers were trying too hard to make him seem… interesting.
Nezuko's Power-Up: Convenient or Cool?
Then there's Nezuko's sudden power boost. Talk about convenient timing!
Like, where was this strength hiding the whole time?
Is it explained later? Probably. Did it feel a little rushed in that moment? Definitely!
It felt like a plot device to get Tanjiro out of a jam. Lazy writing perhaps?
Still, I love her. She is best girl!
Overall Impression
Don't get me wrong, Episode 10 had its moments. Some truly amazing animation.
Some interesting action sequences, and of course seeing Tanjiro grow is nice.
But did it live up to the hype? For me, not quite.
Maybe I'm just a grumpy old anime watcher. Maybe I'm too critical.
Or maybe, just maybe, it was a good episode, not a legendary one.
But hey, that's just my unpopular opinion.
I'm sure many of you disagree. And that's okay!
Demon Slayer is still awesome. I can't wait for the next season!
