The Great *Ancient Magus' Bride* Baby Debate!
Let's be honest. We've all wondered about it. Does Chise and Elias eventually... you know... have a kid?
It's the question that's been swirling around the fandom since the very beginning. And I'm here to offer my (possibly) unpopular opinion.
My Hot Take: They Already DO! (Sort Of)
Okay, hear me out. I'm not saying Chise popped out a mini-Elias. That's... highly improbable. But think about it.
Their relationship is already so unconventional. Why would their "family" look any different?
They're constantly adopting stray magical creatures. Aren't those basically their kids?
Exhibit A: Ruth!
Ruth is practically their son! Chise is his master, but Elias clearly acts as a mentor figure. He is always around for guidance.
He’s loyal, protective, and occasionally gets into trouble. Sounds like a kid to me.
Plus, he's always there when they need a hug or a good cuddle. Total son material.
Exhibit B: All Those Spriggans and Fairies!
Remember all the little magical beings they help along the way? They're like a foster family for lost souls!
They offer them guidance, protection, and a place to belong. They are always saving someone.
That level of caregiving? Totally parental. Chise and Elias have created a whole found family.
But What About a "Real" Child?
I get it. Some people crave a biological child for them. A little Chise/Elias running around.
But their relationship is more about growth and understanding. And let's not forget about Chise's curse.
Perhaps the challenges of safely bringing a child into the world just aren't something they're ready for. At least not now.
The Beauty of Found Family
Instead of focusing on biological children, Ancient Magus' Bride shows us the power of chosen families.
The bonds we create with people (and magical creatures!) we choose to love. It's a powerful message.
And in that sense, Chise and Elias are already parents. To a quirky, magical, and utterly unique family.
So, Unpopular Opinion: Case Closed!
They may not have a traditional child. But their life is overflowing with love, responsibility, and the joys (and headaches) of raising a family.
Of course, this is just my interpretation. The beauty of art is that it's open to interpretation.
But maybe, just maybe, you'll consider my point of view. Chise and Elias are already the best parents to their unconventional family.
Let me know if you agree or disagree. I'm ready for the (hopefully) friendly debate!
Think of it: Chise and Elias, fostering a whole menagerie of magical beings. A loving, if unconventional, family!
