Oh. My. Goodness. Episode 7, Season 4 of Attack on Titan!
Guys, I need to talk about it. I mean, REALLY talk about it. It was like a rollercoaster that went straight up, paused at the very top, and then just plummeted into a pit of "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!"
Remember how last week ended? Tensions were high, the air was thick enough to cut with a knife, and you could practically feel the anxiety radiating off everyone involved. Like waiting for your pizza delivery driver when you’re STARVING.
The Calm Before the Storm (aka The False Sense of Security)
At first, we get a little bit of that "calm before the storm" vibe. Everyone's strategizing, plotting, and generally trying to figure out how not to get eaten by giant naked people. Normal Attack on Titan stuff, right?
There's a meeting, there are serious faces, and there’s talk about plans that sound complicated but, honestly, probably won’t survive five minutes once the titans show up. Think of it as making super detailed vacation plans and then the plane gets delayed. Always happens!
Then BAM! The Titans Arrive
Suddenly, the whole thing explodes. Like a pinata filled with… well, titans. It’s chaotic, it's loud, and it’s utterly terrifying. They come crashing through walls, snapping necks, and generally ruining everyone’s day.
Reiner, bless his conflicted soul, is back in action as the Armored Titan. He's still wrestling with his inner demons, which is making it really hard for him to concentrate on, you know, being an effective titan. Talk about job performance suffering due to personal issues!
Eren, the Troublemaker
And Eren? Oh, Eren. He’s doing his Eren thing, which usually involves punching things really hard and generally causing a ruckus. He is like the world's strongest toddler throwing a tantrum, but with much bigger consequences.
This episode really highlights just how much he’s changed. He’s not the wide-eyed kid desperately trying to avenge his mom anymore. Now he’s... well, let’s just say he's making some VERY questionable life choices.
Is he a hero? Is he a villain? Honestly, at this point, I'm not sure he even knows. It’s like he woke up one day and decided to embrace the chaos.
The Jaw-Dropping Moments
There are SO many moments in this episode that made me gasp. Like, actually gasp out loud. It’s the kind of episode where you’re constantly saying, "No way!" and "Did that just happen?!" to your TV screen. Don’t worry, your neighbors probably understand.
And the animation? The animation is just stunning. The detail, the movement, the sheer brutality of it all... It’s like a beautifully choreographed dance of death. Morbid, maybe, but undeniably impressive.
We also have a little bit of insight of Zeke. He's always got something cooking, does he not? He is like the mastermind villain in a spy movie, playing chess when everyone else plays checkers.
What Does It All Mean?
Honestly, I have no idea. That’s part of what makes Attack on Titan so great! It’s constantly throwing curveballs, subverting expectations, and leaving you completely bewildered.
This episode sets up so many possibilities for the rest of the season. Who’s going to win? Who’s going to betray who? And, most importantly, will anyone ever get a decent night’s sleep in this universe?
So, buckle up, because it looks like we’re in for a wild ride. Season 4 is shaping up to be the most intense, most heartbreaking, and most mind-blowing season yet. Bring on Episode 8!
