Fly Me To The Moon Television Show

Fly Me To The Moon Television Show

Okay, people, let's talk about Fly Me To The Moon. Or, as some know it, Tonikaku Kawaii. It's the anime where a space-obsessed guy gets hit by a truck. Then marries the girl who saved him. Sounds normal, right?

Love at First Impact?

Seriously though, truck-kun really does play a large role in many Isekai Anime, doesn't he? We're supposed to believe this is a romance. A heartwarming tale of destined love. But sometimes... I just don't buy it.

Hear me out. Nasa Yuzaki is a smart kid. He’s got big dreams. But this whole marriage thing feels a bit… rushed. Like, really rushed.

The "Cute" Factor

Tsukasa Tsukuyomi is undeniably cute. The whole anime aesthetic screams "waifu material". But is that all there is to it? I sometimes wonder.

Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just a cynical old grump. But a lifetime commitment after a single encounter? Seems a tad impulsive, right? Come on.

Everyone seems to think they are the cutest couple. Their love is so pure. So wholesome. Is it me or does that "wholesome" meter go way over the top in every episode?

Unpopular Opinion Time

Here's where I might lose some of you. I think the anime is kind of… boring. Yes, I said it.

The plot meanders. It's all very sweet. But not a lot happens. Where is the conflict? Where is the drama? I start dozing off.

The jokes? Predictable. The situations? Often contrived. I feel like I'm watching cotton candy slowly dissolve. It's nice for a bit. Then it's just sticky.

The Mystery Box

Okay, the whole Tsukasa mystery is intriguing. She seems immortal or something. But the show teases this so slowly. It feels like forever before it gives any answers.

I'm sure that it will all connect to the space thing somehow. Is she an alien? A moon goddess? I will get my answers, Eventually.

In the meantime, I am left waiting to see what is going on with the immortal girl. I am also waiting to see how Nasa is going to deal with this. But how long will I wait?

Don't Get Me Wrong

I'm not saying it's bad. It's perfectly fine. Comfort food anime.

The animation is pretty. The voice acting is good. It's just… not my cup of tea. I need a little spice in my anime romances.

If you like pure, unadulterated fluff, this is for you. If you're looking for something with a little more substance, maybe look elsewhere.

My Final Verdict

Fly Me To The Moon is pleasant. It's relaxing. But it's also kind of… bland. You know?

It's like eating plain toast. Perfectly acceptable. But not exactly exciting. No one gets excited over toast.

So, am I completely off base? Do you adore this anime? Let me know! Maybe you can change my mind. Or maybe we can agree to disagree. Either way, enjoy your moon trip!
