Remember that Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special? Yeah, the one that made us all cry (or at least tear up a little) into our Butterbeer?
It was supposed to be all magical and heartwarming. But let's be honest, some things were a tad…awkward.
The Obvious Omissions
Okay, let’s get this out of the way. Where was Julie Walters? Seriously! Molly Weasley is a legend.
Her absence felt like a giant, fluffy, Weasley-jumper-sized hole in my heart. Maybe she was busy baking exploding Christmas crackers?
More Missing Faces
And what about Maggie Smith? I know, I know, she's Dame Maggie Smith. But a tiny cameo would have been epic. Just a withering glare from Professor McGonagall would have been enough!
Also, where was Warwick Davis? I really missed seeing Professor Flitwick there.
Daniel Radcliffe's Transformation
I love Daniel Radcliffe, I really do. He's Harry Potter! But did anyone else notice how… buff he's gotten?
He went from awkward wizard boy to… well, a slightly less awkward but surprisingly muscular wizard man. Good for him, I guess!
Emma Watson's Tears (Again!)
Don't get me wrong, Emma Watson is amazing. She's intelligent, articulate, and a fantastic role model.
But did she cry in every single segment? I get it, it's emotional! Maybe someone should have brought her a box of tissues.
The Neville Longbottom Glow-Up Is Real
Okay, this isn’t really an unpopular opinion. But it needs to be said again. Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom, aged like fine wine.
He went from clumsy, slightly awkward kid to… well, a total heartthrob. Puberty really hit him with a Confringo charm.
The Awkward Moments
Remember when they showed a picture of a young Emma Roberts instead of Emma Watson? Talk about a magical mishap!
I bet someone got a strongly worded Howler for that mistake. I almost choked on my Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans.
My Unpopular Opinion: It Was a Bit…Overhyped?
Look, I loved seeing the cast back together. Nostalgia is a powerful potion.
But did the reunion really tell us anything we didn't already know? It was mostly just reminiscing about the good old days (which, admittedly, is pretty great).
Maybe I was expecting too much. Perhaps a deep dive into the lore or some juicy behind-the-scenes secrets. But hey, at least we got to see everyone again, right?
Still, A Magical Trip Down Memory Lane
Despite its flaws, the Return to Hogwarts special was a lovely way to celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter magic.
It reminded us why we fell in love with the books and films in the first place. And that's something worth crying (or at least tearing up a little) about.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to re-read *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone*. For the hundredth time.
