More Magic, Please!
Okay, unpopular opinion time. I kind of wish there was a super long, extended version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
The movie's great, don't get me wrong. But it feels like a speedy train ride sometimes.
Like, blink and you miss some really cool stuff from the book. And I want more!
Lost Moments We Crave
Remember Dudley's second pig tail? Gone! Peeves the Poltergeist causing mayhem? Nowhere to be seen!
Even little things like Harry's first accidental magic incidents get shortchanged. I felt robbed.
More Snape snark? Yes, please! Let's have it!
An extended version could give these moments room to breathe.
Imagine seeing a longer scene of Hagrid showing Harry Diagon Alley.
More Ollivander's wand choosing ceremony? The possibilities!
Character Development: We Need It!
The first movie establishes the characters quickly. Maybe too quickly?
An extended cut could flesh them out a bit more. Show us a bit more of Ron's loyalty.
Perhaps more of Hermione's struggle to fit in. And what about Neville’s shyness?
More backstory could enhance the emotional impact later in the series.
Hogwarts: A Bigger World
Hogwarts feels massive in the books. The movie does a good job. But still...
An extended version could show us more of the castle. More hidden passages, secret rooms!
Imagine seeing a full Potions class, with Snape breathing down their necks. Perfection!
More glimpses of the daily life of a wizarding student would be fantastic.
We barely see the Quidditch practice sessions, the library, the kitchens. A travesty!
Why This Would Be Awesome
Look, I know some people think less is more. But I'm greedy. I want it all.
An extended version wouldn't replace the original. It would be a bonus.
A deeper dive for the hardcore fans who can't get enough. Like me.
Think of it as the director's cut... but even *more* director-y!
It'd be like getting a whole new Harry Potter experience.
And who wouldn't want that?
The "Slight" Problem
Okay, I admit, it might be *slightly* too long. Maybe bordering on ridiculously long.
But I'd watch it. I'd binge-watch it. I'd probably wear my Harry Potter pajamas while I did.
Even with some filler scenes. It’s Harry Potter, for crying out loud!
So, Hollywood, if you're listening: give the people what they want!
Release the extended cut! Or at least consider it. Please?
I'm not saying it's a masterpiece waiting to happen. But I’m also not *not* saying it.
In conclusion, more Harry Potter is always a good idea.
Don't @ me.
