Okay, let's talk about One-Punch Man. Specifically, how many episodes it *really* has.
Officially? Two seasons. That's what MyAnimeList and Crunchyroll say.
But, like, is that *really* it?
The Official Count: A Bit Depressing
Season one clocked in at 12 episodes. A perfect, action-packed, Saitama-smashing start.
Season two also gave us 12. Making the grand total a very sad 24.
Don't get me wrong, those 24 episodes are gold. Pure, unadulterated gold.
But Wait! There's More (Sort Of)
Now, here's where it gets interesting. Remember the OVAs?
Each season had a few. Short little stories that didn't quite fit into the main plot.
Think of them as bonus content. Or little appetizers before the main Saitama-shaped meal.
So, OVAs count, right?
This is where my unpopular opinion comes in. YES, they absolutely count!
They're canon, they're hilarious, and they give us more of the characters we love.
Ignoring them is like refusing the extra slice of pizza. Just… why?
Season one had a bunch, I believe around 6! More Saitama is good Saitama!
My Unpopular Opinion: The "True" Episode Count
So, if we include those delightful OVAs, the episode count jumps up.
It goes from a paltry 24 to something a little more respectable. Like, 30 or more depending on how you count!
And honestly, that feels a *lot* closer to the truth.
I feel that the OVAs add to the world-building of One-Punch Man.
They give us more of a slice of life.
The Endless Wait for Season 3
Of course, all of this is just a distraction from the real issue.
Where is season 3? The anticipation is almost unbearable!
We're all patiently (or not-so-patiently) waiting for more Saitama to grace our screens.
In Conclusion: It's Enough (For Now)
While 24 (or 30+) episodes might not seem like much, One-Punch Man packs a serious punch.
Each episode is filled with incredible animation, hilarious dialogue, and of course, Saitama being Saitama.
So, until season 3 arrives, let's rewatch the existing episodes (and OVAs, obviously) and bask in the glory of the world's strongest hero. I want to re-watch the part where he defeated Boros!
And maybe, just maybe, count those OVAs as official episodes in your heart.
After all, isn't that what Saitama would want?
