Okay, let's talk Doom Patrol. Specifically, Season 3.
How many episodes did we get? Ten. Yep, just ten.
Ten Episodes? Seriously?
Is it just me, or does that feel... short? Like, *really* short?
I know, I know. We should be grateful for what we get. But ten episodes? C'mon!
Other shows are pumping out thirteen, fifteen, even twenty-plus episodes a season. And we're stuck with ten measly installments of Doom Patrol weirdness?
The Case for More (Because We Deserve It!)
Look, Doom Patrol isn't your average superhero show. It's bonkers. It's heartfelt. It's got a talking cockroach. (Okay, two.)
Each episode is jam-packed with so much bizarre goodness that you need time to unpack it all.
Ten episodes just doesn't feel like enough time to fully explore all the plot threads, character arcs, and existential crises our favorite dysfunctional family goes through.
Think about Madame Rouge showing up and doing her thing. We needed more time to figure her out!
And Rita Farr's journey? Larry Trainor's...everything? Cliff Steele trying to be a good dad? So much story, so little time!
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Here it is. I think Season 3 of Doom Patrol could have been *amazing* with, say, thirteen episodes.
Hear me out! Three extra episodes could have allowed for more breathing room.
More time for character development. More time for those weird side quests that make Doom Patrol so special.
More time for Dannyzens!
I’m not saying the ten episodes we got were bad. Not at all! They were fantastic. But they felt rushed. Like a delicious, multi-course meal crammed into a five-minute window.
We all love that meal, but we can't savor all the flavor.
It's Not Just Me, Right?
Am I alone in this? Does anyone else feel like ten episodes just wasn't enough?
Maybe it's just my insatiable hunger for more Doom Patrol. Maybe I'm being greedy.
But I can't help but feel like a few more episodes would have elevated Season 3 from great to legendary.
Just imagine the possibilities! More backstory for the Sisterhood of Dada! More exploration of Dead Boy Detective Agency. More Chief being, well, Chief.
So, yeah. Ten episodes. Good, but not enough.
Let's hope Season 4 (whenever it arrives!) gives us a few more servings of Doom Patrol madness.
Because we deserve it. And frankly, our sanity demands it!
Now if you excuse me, I need to watch season 3 again, from episode 1 to episode 10.
