Okay, let's talk Major Crimes. Season 6, specifically. We need to address the elephant in the room, or maybe, the lack of room... for more episodes!
How many episodes were in the final season? A measly 13. I know, right? Feels like a crime in itself!
Thirteen Episodes? Seriously?
Thirteen. That's it. After five seasons of building characters and intriguing plots, we get *thirteen* episodes to wrap it all up.
It's like baking a delicious cake and then only letting everyone have a sliver. A really, really tiny sliver.
Am I the Only One Disappointed?
I'm just gonna say it. I wanted more. A lot more. Is it just me, or did anyone else feel robbed?
Maybe I'm being greedy. Maybe I'm just too invested in Sharon Raydor and the gang.
But come on! Give us something to work with! We deserve at least 20 episodes.
Unpopular Opinion Incoming!
Here's where I might get some angry emails. I think they rushed the ending. There. I said it.
Everything felt crammed in. Loose ends tied a little too quickly. Characters acting...well, a little out of character.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that they tried to give us closure. But closure shouldn't feel like a sprint to the finish line.
Could They Have Done More?
Absolutely! With more episodes, they could have explored those lingering plot threads. They could have given the characters the development they deserved.
Imagine a deeper dive into Provenza's past, or maybe a new romance for Amy Sykes.
The possibilities were endless! And then...thirteen episodes. Boom. Done.
Why So Few Episodes, Anyway?
We all know the show was unexpectedly cancelled during Season 6, which affected episode production.
The cancellation of Major Crimes was unexpected after the show was a strong performer in the ratings, making this a shock to the cast and crew.
It's a shame the show had to end so abruptly and with so few episodes in the final season.
A Little Bittersweet, Right?
Season 6 was bittersweet. We got to see our favorite characters one last time. But we also knew it was the end.
And that ending, compressed into those thirteen episodes, just left me wanting more. So. Much. More.
Maybe someday, they'll revive the show. Maybe someday, we'll get the Major Crimes revival we all secretly (or not so secretly) crave. We can always dream, right?
So, What's the Verdict?
Thirteen episodes in season 6 of Major Crimes? Not enough. Plain and simple.
I'll still rewatch it. I'll still love the characters. But I'll always wonder what could have been.
And I'll always secretly hope that someday, someone will realize their mistake and give us the Major Crimes season we truly deserve. A long season that is.
Let's Start a Petition!
Just kidding... (maybe). But seriously, thirteen episodes? It's a crime!
I think it's a worthy discussion to have. What do you think?
Anyway, it was a great show! We will continue to follow the careers of the show's actors.
