Okay, let's talk Attack on Titan Season 4. More specifically, how many episodes are *actually* in it?
The "Final" Season... Or Is It?
Remember when they announced it as the "final" season? Good times! Seems like that was a bit of a...stretch, wouldn't you agree?
Because technically, Season 4 is split into multiple parts. It’s like they baked a pie, then cut it into smaller pies, then announced each slice was a whole new dessert.
Part 1: The Beginning of the End (Or Is It the Middle?)
Part 1 gave us 16 episodes. Sixteen glorious episodes of Eren going rogue and everyone scrambling to figure out what's happening.
It was amazing. It was also not the end.
Part 2: Even More Titans!
Then came Part 2 with another 12 episodes. Twelve episodes full of intense battles and moral dilemmas.
By this point, we're thinking, "Okay, *surely* this is it, right?" Wrong!
The Final Chapters... Part 1 and 2
Enter: The Final Chapters. But wait, there are two of them!
The first "Final Chapter" was a movie-length special. We got an extended episode to enjoy.
The Final Chapter: Part 2 (The Real Finale?)
Then, the grand finale. The Final Chapter: Part 2 also got a movie length special.
So, technically, you could argue Attack on Titan Season 4 has 16 + 12 + 1 + 1 = 30 episodes. But it *feels* like way more, right?
My Unpopular Opinion (Prepare Yourselves!)
Here's where I might lose some of you. This is my unpopular opinion:
It should've been a few *more* movies. Seriously!
Think about it. Three epic movies, each covering a major arc. The animation quality would have been through the roof. The hype would have been insane!
Why Movies Would Have Been Better (Hear Me Out!)
Imagine the cinematic experience! The colossal titan's explosion on a massive screen!
The emotional impact of *Eren's* choices, amplified by surround sound!
Plus, no more waiting months between "parts." We could have binged the entire story in one go (or over a weekend, at least).
Okay, I know, I know. Easier said than done. Budget constraints, production schedules, all that jazz.
But a fan can dream, can't they? A fan can dream of a world where Attack on Titan ended with a series of epic, cinematic masterpieces.
So, How Many Episodes Is It Really?
Ultimately, the "correct" answer is 30 episodes (plus two movie-length specials) spread across multiple parts.
But the real answer? It's however many episodes it takes to tell a complete, unforgettable story.
And whether you loved the ending or hated it, you have to admit: Attack on Titan definitely achieved that.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch it all from the beginning. Again.
