Okay, let's talk about The Bold Type. Remember Jane, Kat, and Sutton? We all wanted to be their friends, right? Or at least raid their closets.
Season 5: The Short and (Maybe Not-So) Sweet
Now, Season 5... that's a whole other story. The burning question everyone had: How many episodes did we actually get?
Brace Yourselves... It's Not Many
Just six. Yep, only six episodes. I know, I know. It felt like a slap in the face, didn't it?
Especially after we'd invested so much time in these characters. Six episodes to wrap everything up? Seriously?
My Hot Take: Six Was... Enough? (Gasp!)
Okay, unpopular opinion alert! Maybe, just maybe, six episodes were secretly a good thing. Hear me out!
Sometimes, less is more. Shows can drag on. They can lose their spark. The Bold Type, while amazing, risked that fate too.
Imagine another full season. Would it have been as impactful? Or would we be complaining about forced storylines and character derailment?
Think About It
Six episodes forced the writers to be concise. They had to cut to the chase. No filler, just pure, concentrated drama (and fashion, of course!).
We saw Jane figuring out her path. Kat embraced her political ambitions. Sutton...well, Sutton had a lot going on! But it all happened fast.
Was it rushed? Absolutely. Did it feel incomplete? Probably for some. But did it avoid jumping the shark? I'd argue yes.
What Could Have Been
Of course, we can all play the "what if" game. What if we'd seen more of Kat's campaign trail?
What if Jane had a longer stint running Scarlet? What if Sutton's journey was less...turbulent?
But that's the thing about TV. We always want more. Especially when we love a show.
The Finale... A Bit Polarizing
The ending was...divisive, to say the least. Some loved the closure. Others felt cheated.
But isn't that the beauty of storytelling? It sparks debate. It makes us think. It makes us feel.
And The Bold Type, even with its shortened final season, definitely made us feel something.
So, Six Episodes: Blessing or Curse?
Maybe it's both. A blessing in disguise. A curse we have to live with.
Either way, The Bold Type gave us amazing friendships, career inspiration, and killer outfits. We'll always have that!
So, let’s raise a glass to Jane, Kat, and Sutton. May their adventures continue (even if they're only in our imaginations!).
And let's all agree that we deserve more Bold Type content, even if it's just a reunion movie!
