Eight. Eight little slices of Cassie Bowden's chaos. Eight opportunities to yell at the TV. Was it enough?
Eight Episodes: A Love/Hate Relationship
I'm going to be honest. Eight felt… weird. Season one was a whirlwind. Six episodes felt like the perfect shot of espresso.
Season two stretched things out. It added international locations, new characters, and another mystery. Did it land the plane smoothly?
For some, absolutely. For others? Well, let's just say my inner monologue sounded a *lot* like Rosie Perez in, well, anything. "Are we there yet?!"
Too Much Turbulence?
Don't get me wrong! I love Kaley Cuoco. She's fantastic as Cassie. And the supporting cast? Chef's kiss!
But season two felt… packed. Too many plot threads. Too many fake Cassies. It was like trying to fit a week's worth of luggage into an overhead bin.
Anyone else feel like they were constantly playing catch-up? I needed a whiteboard to keep track of all the double-crosses.
Eight episodes might *sound* generous. However, it sometimes felt like each one was overflowing. I sometimes wished the plot threads could have more focus.
An Unpopular Opinion: Six Would Have Been Sweet
Here's where I might lose some people. Ready? I think season two would have been better with six episodes.
Hear me out! Trim the fat. Tighten the pacing. Focus on the core mystery and Cassie's sobriety journey. Less fluff, more substance.
Imagine cutting out some of the less impactful subplots. Then concentrate on Megan's storyline. Or *Cassie*'s struggle with staying on track.
Boom! A lean, mean, suspenseful machine. Wouldn't that have been amazing?
Maybe I'm just impatient. Or maybe I have a shorter attention span than a goldfish. Either way, that's my (possibly) crazy idea.
Don't get me wrong! I still enjoyed The Flight Attendant season two. It just had moments that I felt could have been streamlined.
More Episodes, More Problems?
Sometimes, less is more. We are often told that. Right? Did the extra episodes really enhance the story?
Or did they dilute it? That's the question I keep asking myself. I feel like the focus has shifted from the main plot.
Perhaps the writers were trying to build a bigger world. They may have been laying the groundwork for future seasons.
The Jury's Still Out
Ultimately, the number of episodes is subjective. Everyone experiences a story differently.
Some loved the expanded scope of season two. Others felt it lost some of the original's magic. Me? I'm somewhere in between.
I will still watch season three (if it ever happens!) I'm a sucker for Cassie's messy life. And I want to see where her story goes next.
But secretly, I'll be hoping for a return to the tight, suspenseful storytelling of season one. Maybe six is the magic number!
Let's face it: more Rosie Perez is *always* a good thing. No matter the number of episodes!
