How Many Episodes Will Attack On Titan Have

So, you're an Attack on Titan fan, huh? Me too! We've all been through it together. The highs, the lows, the sheer existential dread of giant naked people wanting to eat you.

But let's get real. How many darn episodes ARE there? And more importantly, when does it ALL END?

The Great Episode Debate

Trying to figure out the episode count is like trying to navigate the Paths. Confusing, right? Everyone's got their own theories and calculations.

Initially, we were told season four was "The Final Season." Remember that? We all chuckled nervously. We knew better.

Turns out, "Final Season" meant "Final Season… Part 1… Part 2… AND a Final Chapters Special! " Who comes up with this stuff?

Officially Speaking...

Okay, officially, Attack on Titan has 88 episodes. Sounds reasonable. Seems... finite.

But here's the thing. Does it FEEL finite? Does it feel like that story is truly wrapped up in a satisfying, emotionally complete bow? (Cue ominous music).

Many fans feel like some plot points are rushed or skipped. In particular the ending is the main point of contention for most of the fans.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)

Here's where I might lose some of you. I don't think 88 episodes is enough. There, I said it!

Hear me out! Hajime Isayama's world is HUGE. It's complex. There's so much lore, so many characters, and so many subtle nuances.

Did 88 episodes REALLY give us enough time to explore everything properly? I think not. Especially with how quickly the final arcs progressed. I feel it could have been more.

The Pacing Problem

The final arcs of the manga were dense. REALLY dense.

Condensing all that into a limited number of episodes? It's like trying to stuff a Titan into a teacup. Something's gotta give.

I love the anime. Don't get me wrong. But I sometimes feel like the pacing in those final episodes sacrificed character development and world-building.

Imagine a few more episodes dedicated to Eren's descent. Picture more time spent exploring Ymir's backstory.

Wouldn't that have made the ending hit even harder? I think so.

Could There EVER Be More?

Okay, okay, I know. The story's "over." Attack on Titan is done. Finito.

But a fan can dream, right? What about OVAs exploring untold stories? Prequels showing us the world before the walls?

Maybe someday Isayama Sensei will revisit the world. One can only hope!

So, How Many Episodes *Should* It Have Had?

This is purely subjective, of course. But personally? I think 100-110 would have been the sweet spot.

More time to breathe. More time to develop characters. More time to let the emotional impact sink in.
