Hear Me Out: It's Complicated

Remember when Season 3 was split in half? Part 1 ended. Then, like, a year later, Part 2 showed up. Was that REALLY just one season?

And then there's Season 4. Oof. Another split! This time, it was even more dramatic. We got Part 1, then Part 2, and *then*...wait for it...Final Chapters. Two movies, split into two parts themselves!

I am not making this up. Try explaining that to your grandma.

"Grandma, it's Season 4, Part 2, Final Chapters, Act 1."

She'd probably just offer you a cookie. A much simpler proposition, tbh.

My (Possibly Unpopular) Opinion

Here's the deal. I think Attack on Titan has, like, seven seasons. At least. Hear me out, it is not that far fetched.

Each "Part" felt like its own mini-season. New storylines, new villains (besides the titans, obvi), new animation.

Season 1 was cool. Season 2 kept it going. Then Season 3 came along and decided to double down with the *reveal* of the basement.

The difference in tone between Season 3 Part 1 and Season 3 Part 2 was massive. Basically the same as Reiner reveals himself.

Breaking It Down My Way

I propose this revised list:

• Season 1: The Beginning
• Season 2: The Beast Titan Arrives
• Season 3A: The Uprising
• Season 3B: Return to Shiganshina
• Season 4A: Marley
• Season 4B: War for Paradis
• Season 4C: The Rumbling (Parts 1 & 2)

Seven! Bam. Case closed. Okay, maybe not officially closed. But in my heart, it is.

The Real Reason This Matters (Sort Of)

Look, I know it doesn't REALLY matter. We all watched it (or most of it, anyway). We all cried (or at least felt a little something).

But isn't it fun to argue about these things? To debate the merits of different arcs? To yell about Eren being a whiny brat (or a misunderstood hero)?

And let's be honest, the way Attack on Titan structured its final season(s) was...unconventional. Like Levi's cleaning habits, it was nothing if not thorough.
