Okay, let's talk about something important. Something that's been keeping me up at night. It's Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And specifically, how many seasons it *actually* has.
The Official Answer (and Why It's Wrong)
Officially, Sabrina the Teenage Witch has 7 seasons. That's what Wikipedia says. That's what your streaming service claims. But I'm here to tell you, friends, that they are WRONG.
Hear me out before you grab your Spellman family magic book. My unpopular opinion is that it only has 4 GREAT seasons, and then things get...weird. And not in a quirky, Sabrina-kind-of-weird.
Season 1-4: The Golden Age
These are the years we all remember fondly. Sabrina is trying to navigate high school. She's dealing with Salem's snarky remarks. Plus, she is causing magically induced chaos along the way. This is classic sitcom gold.
We've got Harvey, the perfectly clueless boyfriend. We've got Valerie and Libby, the best frenemies a witch could ask for. The Aunts, Hilda and Zelda, are always there to give terrible/amazing advice. It's perfection.
Remember when Sabrina turned Libby into a pineapple? Or when she accidentally created a duplicate Harvey? These are the moments that defined our childhoods.
The College Years (and Beyond...Yikes!)
Then, things changed. Sabrina went to college. Harvey disappeared (mostly). And the whole vibe just...shifted.
New characters came and went faster than Salem could eat a plate of enchiladas. The storylines got, well, less charming. It felt like they were trying too hard.
Suddenly, Sabrina was working at a coffee shop? Dating a string of forgettable guys? Even the magic felt less creative. I was definitely not a fan, and this is when my devotion started to fade.
And don't even get me started on the last season. The one where she calls off her wedding to marry... someone else? It felt like a different show entirely.
So, How Many Seasons *Really* Are There?
For me, Sabrina the Teenage Witch has four seasons. Four glorious seasons. Four seasons that capture the essence of what made the show so special.
The others? They exist. I acknowledge their existence. But in my heart, they're just extended fan fiction. Like someone wrote "and then what happened..."
Maybe I'm being harsh. Maybe some of you loved the college years. But for me, the magic died when Sabrina left Westbridge High. It just wasn’t the same anymore.
I will always cherish the first four seasons of the show. I will continue to rewatch them endlessly. And I'll happily pretend the rest never happened. That's my truth, and I'm sticking to it!
"Is it really so wrong to want to stay in high school forever?" - Me, probably a teenage Sabrina at heart.
What do you think? Am I crazy? Or do you secretly agree with me? Let's discuss!
