Okay, let's talk about something serious. Something that keeps me up at night. The Continue Watching list on Amazon Prime.
It mocks me, doesn't it? Reminding me of abandoned shows. Of fleeting interests and poor life choices. Let's get rid of that list, shall we?
The Great Purge: Beginning Your Journey
First, fire up your Amazon Prime Video. Get ready for some digital decluttering. This isn't Spring cleaning; it's existential cleaning.
Option 1: The Web Browser Method
Head to the Amazon Prime Video website. On your computer, of course. Because who does this on their phone? (Okay, maybe you do.)
Look for the Continue Watching section. It's usually right there on the homepage, taunting you. Hover over a title. See that little "X"? Your weapon. Click it.
Sometimes, it disappears instantly. Other times, it lingers. Like that awkward houseguest who just won't leave. Just refresh the page if it doesn't cooperate.
Repeat this process. For every single show. It's tedious. I know. But freedom isn't free (of clicking).
Option 2: The "Watch to the End" Gambit
This is the nuclear option. Select a show. Any show from that list. Let the madness begin.
Watch it. All of it. Even if it's terrible. Power through. Fast forward if necessary. Mute it if you have to. Get that finish line!
This will remove it from Continue Watching. But you've sacrificed precious hours. I'm not responsible for any lost brain cells.
Option 3: Mobile Device Mayhem
Open your Amazon Prime Video app. Find the Continue Watching section. Locate the show you want gone.
Tap the three dots (or the ellipsis, those are the official name!). A menu will pop up. Look for the option that says "Remove from Watch History".
Tap that option. The show shall vanish. A simpler, cleaner experience. Unless you accidentally hit "Add to Watchlist." Then, start again.
A Few Unpopular Opinions
I firmly believe Amazon hides this feature. On purpose! They want you hooked. They want you reminded of every half-watched episode.
It's a conspiracy, I tell you! Or maybe just a really annoying user interface. Whatever the truth, we must prevail!
Why can't there be a "Delete All" button? A "Clean Slate" option? A "Pretend I Didn't Start Any of These Shows" button? Amazon, are you listening?
Rejoice in the Cleansing
Once you've purged the list, take a moment. Bask in the digital cleanliness. A weight lifted.
The Continue Watching list: now a blank canvas. Ready for new shows. Ready for new mistakes. (Just kidding...mostly.)
Enjoy your clutter-free Amazon Prime experience. Until you start another show. And the cycle begins again.
Happy watching! (And deleting!) Remember to always choose shows wisely. Or, at least, know how to banish them from your list later.
Now go forth and conquer your Continue Watching list. You've got this. I believe in you. And if all else fails, there's always another streaming service...
