Ever wanted your very own pocket monster pal trotting alongside you in the Hisui region? Well, buckle up, because it's easier than convincing a Snorlax to move out of your way!
Step 1: Gotta Catch 'Em All (Almost!)
First things first, you need to have actually, you know, caught a Pokemon! No ghost buddies if you have not caught them.
You'll need to advance far enough in the main story to unlock the ability to release Pokemon into pastures. Think of it like Pokemon daycare, but way cooler.
Step 2: Head to Jubilife Village
This is the heart of your Hisuian adventure. Plus, it's where all the magic happens (at least for this particular trick!).
The Key Location: Pastures
Find the Pastures in Jubilife Village. It is located on the east side of the village.
Talk to the Pasture warden. Let’s call her Marie for simplicity. Marie is your go-to gal for all things Pokemon release and re-adoption.
Step 3: The Great Escape (and Re-Adoption!)
Now, here's the fun part. Browse your boxes and select the Pokemon you want to be your new bestie.
Release that Pokemon to the pastures, bidding it a fond (but temporary!) farewell. This feels a bit weird, but trust the process!
Once it is safely frolicking in the pasture, speak to Marie again. Now, “reclaim” your Pokemon from the pasture and add it to your party.
Step 4: The Grand Reveal (They Follow!)
Exit the Pastures, and BAM! There it is, your chosen Pokemon, trailing behind you like an adorable, slightly pixelated shadow.
Run, jump, and explore to your heart's content with your new companion. Just try not to accidentally lead them into a pack of angry Ursaring.
Important Notes & Fun Facts
Not every Pokemon is created equal. Some are just plain bigger, and therefore more hilarious to watch lumber around behind you. Think Onix versus Pikachu. One is a rock snake, the other is a pocket-sized thunder rodent!
You can only have one Pokemon following you at a time. Choose wisely!
If your Pokemon gets hurt in battle, they won't follow you until they are healed. Safety first, always!
Changing areas or entering certain buildings will make your Pokemon disappear temporarily. Don't worry, they'll be back!
Troubleshooting
"My Pokemon isn't following me! What gives?"
Double-check that you've followed all the steps correctly. Make sure the Pokemon is actually in your party and not still in a pasture box. You’d be surprised how often that happens!
Also, try restarting your game. Sometimes, a simple reboot is all it takes to get those digital critters moving.
Final Thoughts
Having a Pokemon follow you in Legends: Arceus is a simple pleasure, but it adds so much to the immersion. So, go forth, catch 'em all (or at least one!), and enjoy the company of your new Hisuian hiking buddy!
