How To Set Up Amazon Fire Tablet Without Amazon Account

So, you got a shiny new Amazon Fire Tablet. Exciting! But, maybe you're... hesitant to fully embrace the Amazon ecosystem. I get it. Some of us are commitment-phobes when it comes to mega-corporations.

The Sneaky Startup

Then comes the dreaded Amazon account sign-in screen. Don't panic! This is where our adventure begins.

The Fake Account Fiasco

Here’s the magic: try to create a new account. You know, the usual email, password jazz. Only... make it intentionally wrong. Like, really wrong.

Type in a totally bogus email address. I’m talking "[email protected]" level of unreal. A password of "password123" will probably also get you there.

The "Accessibility" Advantage

Tap on that. Now, find the "Select to Speak" feature. Turn it on.

While it’s rambling on, tap the settings icon (the little gear). If you can't see it, keep tapping until "Select to Speak" reads something mentioning "Settings."

Settings, Sweet Settings

If you're lucky, the Settings menu will pop up. Hallelujah!

From here, go to "Apps & Notifications". Then, "See all apps".

Now, find the Amazon Appstore. Disable it. Force stop it. Treat it like the digital villain it is (for our purposes, anyway).

The App Download Dilemma

Next, you need to install an app store. Because, well, you need apps! The most common choice is to install the Google Play Store.
