Okay, Let's Talk Spider-Man... I Mean, So I'm a Spider, So What?
Confession time! I have a slightly (okay, maybe massively) unpopular anime opinion.
It's about the English dub of So I'm a Spider, So What? Yeah, that one with the spunky spider isekai protagonist.
Hear Me Out!
I know, I know. Sub purists, attack! But seriously, give the dub a chance.
I think it's actually... kinda great?
The voice acting? Spot on! Kumoko's inner monologues are hilarious.
They perfectly capture her chaotic energy. It's like listening to a hyperactive gamer commentating their playthrough.
Why I Think It Works
The anime itself is already pretty goofy, right? It's not trying to be Shakespeare.
The dub embraces that silliness. It adds another layer of fun.
Plus, some of the jokes just land better in English. Maybe it's just me.
The Other Characters
It's not just Kumoko (or Shiro for those in the know!). The supporting cast is dubbed well, too.
Their voices fit their personalities. You have the noble knight, the clueless prince, and the scheming nobles.
Each voice helps bring the whole colorful cast to life.
Dub vs. Sub: A Never-Ending Debate
Look, I get it. Some people prefer the original Japanese voices. They find it more authentic.
That's totally valid! It all comes down to personal preference.
But I think the So I'm a Spider, So What? dub holds its own.
Give It a Shot!
If you haven't watched the dub, maybe give it a try?
You might be surprised. You might hate it. But you might also find yourself laughing along with the crazy spider.
Who knows? Maybe you'll even join my side of the argument.
It's All About Enjoyment
At the end of the day, anime is about having fun. It's about escaping into another world.
If the English dub of So I'm a Spider, So What? enhances that enjoyment for you, then that's awesome!
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Embrace the spider!
Unpopular Opinion: Declared!
So, yeah, there it is. My maybe-controversial anime opinion.
I think the So I'm a Spider, So What? English dub is genuinely entertaining.
Fight me (in a friendly, anime-loving way, of course!).
Whether you watch dub or sub, enjoy Kumoko's insane journey through a world filled with monsters, magic, and way too much RPG stat grinding.
What is your favorite part? No matter your opinion, anime is meant to be fun for everyone!
Long live the spider!
