Okay, let’s talk about Dee. More specifically, let's talk about Dee and A Million Little Things. Has she become... dispensable? I said it!
It's Season 4, and we’ve watched this show twist and turn. Friendships have blossomed, and lives have changed dramatically. But is Dee still relevant to the overall storyline?
Dee's Journey: From Grief to... What Exactly?
We met Dee amidst profound grief. She was reeling from the loss of her mother, connecting with Maggie in unexpected ways. It was touching, poignant even.
Maggie stepped up, offering a much-needed maternal figure. Dee's storyline provided a fresh perspective on grief and healing. Everyone cried at least once, right?
But Here's My Unpopular Opinion...
Has Dee's arc run its course? Does she really add substantial value to the group dynamic anymore? Think about it.
The "adult" characters are dealing with major life events. We're talking marriage, babies, career changes, and complicated relationships. Where does Dee fit into all this chaos?
I know, I know. It sounds harsh. But sometimes, storylines reach a natural conclusion.
The Case for Moving On
Dee found solace in Maggie and started to rebuild her life. Isn’t that a satisfying ending? Maybe it’s time for her to ride off into the sunset.
Imagine the possibilities! The show could explore other pressing issues. Perhaps delve deeper into the struggles of the main characters we’ve grown to love.
It wouldn't be about forgetting Dee. It's about allowing the show to evolve organically. Sometimes, that means saying goodbye.
Is She Just... *There* Now?
Let's be honest: lately, Dee feels more like a side character. She pops in for a scene or two, offering supportive comments.
While supportive friends are great, they don't always drive the plot. And on a show like A Million Little Things, the plot needs driving!
I’m not saying Dee is a bad character. She's lovely, sweet, and clearly has a good heart. But is "lovely" and "sweet" enough to warrant continued screen time?
What Could Have Been (But Isn't)
Perhaps the writers had bigger plans for Dee. Maybe they envisioned a romantic subplot or a major personal crisis.
But those storylines never materialized. Instead, Dee has remained a somewhat peripheral figure. A friendly face, but not much else.
It's a shame because there was so much potential. The initial connection with Maggie was compelling. But the follow-through has been lackluster.
So, Is Dee Leaving? The Million Dollar Question
Ultimately, I don't know if Dee is leaving A Million Little Things. The writers are notoriously tight-lipped. But is it something we secretly hope for?
Maybe a graceful exit would be best for everyone involved. Give Dee a happy ending. And allow the show to refocus on its core characters.
It's just a thought! Don't hate me, A Million Little Things fans. I still love the show. But sometimes, tough decisions need to be made, even if it involves saying goodbye to a character we once adored.
I will say this.
I hope Dee found happiness in the end.And hopefully, the rest of the main characters do too!
