Before you grab your pitchforks, let’s think this through. We already have a TON of Spider-Man content. So many versions!
From Tobey to Andrew to Tom. Animated series galore! My brain is already overloaded with web-slinging action.
Is adding another Spider-Man really necessary? Or are we just feeding the insatiable monster that is nostalgia?
The Nostalgia Trap
Don’t get me wrong, I understand the appeal. Spectacular Spider-Man was fantastic. I even liked it, it was well-written with great animation.
The characters were engaging! The stories were compelling! I get it, believe me!
But nostalgia can be a dangerous thing. It can blind us to the flaws. It makes us want things we don't actually need.
Is It Actually That Good?
Let's be honest, a lot of the love for Spectacular Spider-Man is because it ended too soon. We didn't get a chance to get tired of it!
If it had gone on for five more seasons, would we still be clamoring for it? Maybe not.
Sometimes, less is more. A show can become special because it leaves us wanting more!
Disney Plus Needs…Something Else?
Instead of rehashing old favorites, shouldn't Disney Plus be focusing on…new things? New stories? New characters?
I am looking forward to Daredevil: Born Again. Also the new Ironheart series! That would bring a fresh perspective to the MCU.
I wish they would focus on something other than bringing back something from the past.
My Controversial Conclusion
So, here it is, my spicy take: I’m not dying to see Spectacular Spider-Man on Disney Plus. I'm probably the only one who thinks this!
I'd rather they invested in something original. Something that surprises us. Something that makes us say, "Wow, I wasn't expecting that!"
Give me a new hero! Or a villain with a compelling backstory! Just…something new!

Okay, okay, I get it. Many people really want Spectacular Spider-Man on Disney Plus. For some, it's their favorite version of Spidey.
It brings back happy memories. It's comfort food for the soul. I respect that.
And hey, if it does happen, I won't complain too much. I might even watch an episode or two!

Ultimately, it's up to Disney. They'll do what they think is best for their platform. They probably already have the algorithm that tells them what to do.

If that's the case, then I'll happily eat my words. And maybe even binge-watch the whole series. But from my position I think it is fine as it is.
