Okay, let’s talk about Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 5. Specifically, the UK episodes. I know, I know, some people loved them. But hear me out. This might be an unpopular opinion.
Did anyone else feel like it was… kinda boring? I mean, the OG Jersey Shore was all about wild nights and questionable decisions. Remember Seaside Heights? Pure chaos!
Then came Family Vacation. It’s fun, don't get me wrong. Seeing the crew navigate adulthood is interesting. But the UK trip felt… different. Like they were on a school field trip instead of a vacation.
The Charm of Chaos Missing?
Think about it. The drama in the UK was pretty mild. A little awkwardness here and there. But nothing that screamed, "This is why I love Jersey Shore!"
Maybe it was the location. England is beautiful, sure. But it lacks the raw, unpolished energy of the boardwalk.
I missed the fist-pumping. I missed the questionable spray tans. I missed the general sense that anything could happen at any moment. The UK felt too…contained.
The Meatball Shop Abroad
I will say, seeing Snooki and Deena try to navigate a foreign grocery store was hilarious. Their quest for snacks is always entertaining.
And, of course, Vinny trying to find a keto-friendly meal in a land of fish and chips? Classic Vinny.
But even those moments felt… subdued. Like they were trying to be on their best behavior. Where’s the fun in that?
Was It Really *Family* Vacation?
Another thing that bugged me? It felt like some of the key players were missing. Or, at least, less involved.
I need more Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. I need more of his chaotic energy and insightful commentary. The Sitch felt a little too mellow for my taste in the UK.
And where was the real drama between Angelina and… well, everyone? A few little spats, sure. But nothing that truly got the pot stirring.
Maybe It's Me
Look, I get it. People grow and change. Maybe the show is evolving. But I miss the reckless abandon of the old days.
Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe I just wanted more drunken nights and fights over who gets the last chicken parm. Maybe I want too much.
Or maybe, just maybe, the UK episodes were a little… lackluster. At least, compared to the glory days of Seaside Heights. What do you think?
