Okay, let's talk about Kingdom Hearts. Specifically, the *story so far* on the PS4. Prepare yourselves. This might get a little... complicated.
It's like Disney characters decided to hang out with Final Fantasy characters. Then they all got really, *really* confused about light and darkness. And hearts, obviously.
The Gist (Kinda)
You play as Sora, a spiky-haired kid. He's got a giant key for some reason. He also has some pals named Donald and Goofy. Yep, *that* Donald and Goofy.
They travel to different Disney worlds. Think *Aladdin*, *The Little Mermaid*, *Hercules*… It's basically Disney vacation gone wild.
Their mission? To stop the Heartless. These shadowy creatures want to steal everyone's hearts. Because why not?
So Many Games!
Here's where things get tricky. There's *Kingdom Hearts I*, *II*, *Chain of Memories*, *358/2 Days* (seriously!), *Birth by Sleep*, *Dream Drop Distance*… And more!.
Each game adds another layer of plot. New characters, new villains, new kinds of Heartless! It's a lot to take in. Most of us just nod and smile and hope we understand some of it.
They all lead to *Kingdom Hearts III*. Which, spoiler alert, still doesn't explain everything! But hey, at least the graphics are pretty.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Ready for my hot take? Some of these side games are actually… good! Okay, maybe "good" is pushing it. But they're *interesting*!
Especially *Birth By Sleep*. Playing as Aqua, Terra, and Ventus? Solid stuff. Their stories are actually kinda tragic. More tragic than losing your ice cream, that's for sure.
Also, I secretly enjoy the convoluted plot. It's like a soap opera, but with more Keyblades. Who doesn't love a good melodrama?
Keyblades: The Ultimate Weapon
Let's be honest. The Keyblade is the coolest weapon ever. It unlocks doors and defeats darkness. Plus, they look awesome!
You get different Keyblades in each world. A Lion King Keyblade? Yes, please! A Little Mermaid Keyblade? Okay, maybe not my favorite.
Collecting Keyblades is half the fun. The other half is button-mashing. It is the ultimate action RPG, after all!
Is it Worth It?
Despite the confusing story, *Kingdom Hearts* is a blast. It’s a fun mix of Disney magic and JRPG combat.
So, should you play it? If you like Disney, Final Fantasy, and ridiculously complex plots, then yes! Prepare to be confused. Prepare to be charmed.
Just don't try to understand everything. Embrace the chaos. And remember, may your heart be your guiding key! (I think that's how it goes, anyway.)
Seriously, though, maybe just watch a YouTube summary. You'll save yourself a lot of time and brainpower. Trust me. Your sanity will thank you.
Happy Keyblading!
