Ready for a trip down memory lane, zombie-style? Let's shamble through the Resident Evil games in order, because who doesn't love a good undead outbreak with a side of cheesy dialogue?
The OG Crew: PlayStation Power
Resident Evil (1996)
It all started in a spooky mansion with Jill, Chris, and some very bad dogs. Think Scooby-Doo, but with more gore and less talking Great Danes.
The voice acting is legendary for its awfulness. "Jill sandwich," anyone? It's so bad, it's good!
Resident Evil 2 (1998)
Enter Leon Kennedy, the rookie cop with the worst first day ever. Also, Claire Redfield is on the hunt for her brother Chris. Raccoon City is having a *really* bad time.
Mr. X stomping around? Nightmare fuel. But hey, at least you get to shoot zombies. Plus, who can forget that alligator fight?
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999)
Jill's back, and this time she's being stalked by a persistent monster named Nemesis. He *really* wants to say "STARS."
Imagine being chased by a seven-foot-tall dude with a rocket launcher. Talk about needing a career change!
New Century, New Consoles (and Zombies)
Resident Evil – Code: Veronica (2000)
Claire's adventures continue, this time in a prison island. Family drama and bioweapons collide!
Steve Burnside? A questionable character, but his heart's in the right place, even if his dialogue isn't.
Resident Evil 0 (2002)
A prequel! We learn more about Rebecca Chambers' backstory on a creepy train. Trains and zombies don't mix well.
Leeches are involved. Just...leeches. Enough said.
Resident Evil 4 (2005)
Leon's back, looking slicker than ever, to rescue the president's daughter. This game reinvented the series with its over-the-shoulder perspective.
"Leon! Help!" Ashley's cries might drive you mad, but hey, the action is top-notch. Gotta love a good "Bingo!" from a villager.
Resident Evil 5 (2009)
Chris and Sheva team up in Africa to fight...something involving a lot of tentacles. The sun's out, but the horrors are still there.
Boulder-punching. Need we say more? Chris Redfield proves he's basically a superhero.
Resident Evil: Revelations (2012)
Jill's on a cruise ship that's, of course, infested with mutated sea creatures. Vacation ruined!
Introducing Parker Luciani, who, alongside Jill, brings back a sense of classic Resident Evil horror.
Resident Evil 6 (2012)
Three separate stories intertwine, with Leon, Chris, and Jake Muller (Wesker's son!) battling a global outbreak.
This one's... divisive. Some love the action, others miss the horror. Still, it's a wild ride.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (2015)
Claire and Moira Burton (Barry's daughter!) get kidnapped and forced to play a deadly game. Family legacy strikes again!
Barry Burton returns! He always has awesome guns and cheesy lines. "Where's everyone going? Bingo?"
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017)
A new protagonist, Ethan Winters, searches for his missing wife in a creepy Louisiana plantation. First-person horror at its finest!
The Baker family is absolutely terrifying. Grandma's cooking is probably not something you want to try.
Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019)
Raccoon City gets a modern makeover! Leon and Claire are back, looking better than ever, and the scares are amplified.
Mr. X is even more relentless (and stylish). Those footsteps will haunt your dreams.
Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020)
Jill Valentine's desperate escape from Raccoon City is reimagined. Nemesis is even scarier now.
The pacing is intense! It's a non-stop thrill ride through a city in ruins.
Resident Evil Village (2021)
Ethan Winters is back, this time in a spooky European village filled with werewolves, vampires, and very tall ladies. Lady Dimitrescu, we're looking at you!
The internet collectively simped for a vampire. Who would've thought?
Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023)
Leon returns to rescue Ashley, but everything is darker and more intense. This remake enhances everything that made the original great.
"Where's everyone going? Bingo?" Now in glorious HD!
So there you have it! A chaotic, zombie-filled journey through the world of Resident Evil. Now, go forth and survive (or at least try to)!
