Alright movie lovers, summer's here, and you know what that means! Time to escape the heat (or embrace it, you do you!) and dive headfirst into a cinematic buffet. July and August 2022 were PACKED with popcorn-worthy flicks. Let's take a peek!
July: Action, Adventure, and Animated Antics!
Thor: Love and Thunder - July 8th
Need some cosmic superhero laughs? Thor: Love and Thunder hit theaters and delivered a thunderous (get it?) punch of action, humor, and heart. Think sparkly space battles meets awkward romantic reunions, all soundtracked by killer 80s tunes. It’s basically a rock concert disguised as a Marvel movie!
Where the Crawdads Sing - July 15th
Ready for a mystery that will leave you guessing until the very end? Where the Crawdads Sing adapted the mega-bestselling book. Expect beautiful scenery, a compelling story, and a whole lot of Southern charm (and maybe a little suspense!).
Nope - July 22nd
Director Jordan Peele scared us silly with Get Out and Us. His new film, Nope, was shrouded in mystery, promising something terrifying in the skies above. If you're into spine-tingling thrills and mind-bending plots, this was your jam!
August: From Brad Pitt to Dragons - Something for Everyone!
Bullet Train - August 5th
Buckle up for a wild ride on the Bullet Train! Brad Pitt stars as a world-weary assassin caught in a chaotic, action-packed adventure on a speeding train in Japan. Imagine Snatch meets Kill Bill, but on rails. Hilarity (and probably a few bruises) ensues.
Bodies Bodies Bodies - August 5th
Looking for a dark comedy with a side of suspense? Bodies Bodies Bodies offered a Gen Z slasher flick with a killer twist (literally!). A hurricane party goes horribly wrong when a game of 'Bodies Bodies Bodies' turns deadly. It was a witty and satirical take on modern horror.
Fall - August 12th
Heights make you sweat? Then maybe avoid Fall! Two friends get stuck at the top of a ridiculously tall radio tower. It was a pure adrenaline rush for those who enjoy movies that make their palms clammy.
Beast - August 19th
Idris Elba facing off against a rogue lion? Yes, please! Beast was a survival thriller that pitted a father and his daughters against a ferocious predator in the African savanna. Think "The Lion King" but way, way more intense.
The Invitation - August 26th
Fancy a destination wedding with a sinister secret? The Invitation was a gothic horror romance where a woman discovers dark family secrets after being invited to a lavish wedding in the English countryside. Expect chills, thrills, and maybe a few unexpected twists.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero - August 19th
Calling all anime fans! Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero finally arrived in theaters. Gohan and Piccolo took center stage in this action-packed adventure. It was a visual feast for fans of the iconic franchise.
