Okay, okay, hear me out. I've got something to say about My Hero Academia.
It's popular, I know. Millions love it, and honestly? I do too! But sometimes... I see it for what it truly is. I see it’s core.
Is it just me, or...?
Anyone else ever get the feeling that My Hero Academia is secretly a really, really good comic book?
Like, underneath all the anime flash and cool action sequences, it's just a good old-fashioned superhero comic.
Don't get me wrong! The animation is fantastic. But strip it all away, and you've got some classic comic book tropes.
The Plot Thickens (Like Comic Book Paper!)
Think about it. We have Deku, the underdog.
He gets powers out of nowhere. Sounds like half the origin stories ever, right?
Suddenly he's got to learn the ropes. Classic.
Then there's All Might, the mentor figure. A powerful figure who slowly fades away, passing the torch.
That's like, Mentor 101 from the Superhero Handbook.
And of course, the villains. Shigaraki? Evil and motivated, it's a classic villain origin story.
There are also different organizations with nefarious plans. This is straight out of your favorite comic book saga.
These villains threaten the world and everything Deku loves!
Panels, But Animated
It's like the whole anime is just a really, really long comic panel brought to life.
Each episode is crafted so that you get a new page or chapter. Like reading a really binge worthy comic.
The dramatic poses? The over-the-top expressions? You read it!
These are all comic book staples. Fight scenes? Action bubbles! All pure comic book energy.
Unpopular Opinion Time
I know, I know. Some people are going to disagree with me.
They'll say, "But the animation! The voice acting! The music!"
And you know what? They're right. Those things are awesome.
But at its core, My Hero Academia feels like a love letter to comic books.
It takes all the best parts of the genre and brings them to life in a new and exciting way.
And maybe that's why it's so popular. Deep down, we all just love a good superhero story.
So What's the Point?
Honestly? There isn't one. Just an observation!
Just a lighthearted realization that I wanted to share. A feeling deep down!
My Hero Academia is amazing. A fun and gripping anime.
I think it is a comic book, but just animated! Maybe I am wrong.
Next time you're watching Deku smash someone with a Detroit Smash, think about it.
Isn't it just like reading a really awesome, action-packed comic book?
Feel free to argue in the comments. Or agree! I would love to hear your thoughts.
Maybe I'm just crazy. But maybe, just maybe, I'm onto something.
And that "something" is that My Hero Academia is a secret comic book masterpiece in disguise.
