Okay, let's talk My Hero Academia. Specifically, Season 5 Episode 21. Dubbed, of course. Because subtitles require, like, effort. And who has time for that?
The Joint Training Exercise Concludes! (Kinda)
The Joint Training Exercise is finally, FINALLY, wrapping up. Took them long enough, right? It felt like it went on for approximately five years in anime time.
Now, I know a lot of people weren't huge fans of this arc. But hear me out. I kind of liked it! *dodges tomatoes*
I said what I said! Sue me!
Shinso's Moment to Shine (Maybe?)
One thing I did appreciate was Shinso getting some screen time. That purple-haired brainwasher deserves all the love. He's got such a cool, subtle power.
Seeing him interact with Team A was also pretty funny. He's basically a permanent outsider awkwardly trying to fit in.
Plus, his whole deadpan delivery? Hilarious. Someone give that kid a raise. Or, you know, a hero license.
Class 1-A vs. Class 1-B: A Battle of Egos (and Quirks)
The whole point of the exercise was to see which class was better. And honestly? It was a tie. Mostly because plot.
We got some cool Quirk showcases. Kuroiro being all shadowy and sneaky? Excellent. Pony Tsunotori's horns? Always entertaining.
But did anyone *really* prove anything? Debatable.
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)
Okay, here it comes. The thing that will probably get me banned from the My Hero Academia fan club.
I thought the Joint Training arc was… *good*. Not amazing. Not the best arc ever. But good!
It was a nice breather after all the intense stuff with the League of Villains. Plus, it gave some of the lesser-used characters a chance to shine. (Looking at you, Ojiro!)
Yeah, I Said It!
Look, I get it. It wasn't the most exciting arc. There weren't any huge stakes. No one's life was on the line (except maybe their pride).
But sometimes, you just need a little bit of schoolyard competition, ya know? It’s good for the soul!
And let's be real, some of the interactions were genuinely funny. Especially when Bakugo was involved. That guy's a walking comedic goldmine.
The Dub: Yay or Nay?
As for the dub itself? Solid. The voice actors are all fantastic. They really bring the characters to life.
Clifford Chapin as Bakugo? Iconic. Justin Briner as Deku? Perfection. It’s like these characters were born to be voiced by them.
Honestly, I can't imagine watching My Hero Academia any other way. Sue me... again!
So, What's Next?
Now that the Joint Training Exercise is over, what's next? Things are about to get… interesting.
We're diving headfirst into some darker stuff. The villains are getting stronger. The heroes are getting tested.
Buckle up, folks. Because it's gonna be a wild ride.
And whatever you do, don't skip Season 5. Even the Joint Training arc. You might just find something to enjoy. Even if it's just Shinso's glorious sarcasm.
