Okay, let's be real for a second. We all love My Hero Academia, right? But can we talk about World Heroes' Mission?
An Unpopular Opinion, Maybe?
I know, I know. Everyone raves about it. The action, the stakes, the new costumes... But hear me out.
I think it's... a little overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun watch. But best MHA movie? I'm not so sure.
The Good Stuff (Because It's Not All Bad!)
First of all, the animation is gorgeous. Bones really outdid themselves. The fight scenes? Absolutely bonkers.
And the stealth mission aspect was pretty cool. Seeing the characters operate in a more low-key setting was refreshing. Especially Deku trying to blend in!
Rody Soul! A new character that won our hearts. He really stole the show.
"A hero's job is to risk his own safety to protect others."
The Not-So-Good Stuff (Ahem, Plot Holes)
But the plot? Eh. It felt a little... generic superhero movie. A villain group wants to destroy Quirks? Seen it before.
And the whole Humankindize thing? I get the message, but it felt a little heavy-handed. Like, we get it, Quirks aren't inherently evil.
Also, the MacGuffin. The Trigger bomb. The villain plan to take out all the people with quirks. I am sorry, but where did that weapon suddenly come from?
Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto: The Dream Team (Again!)
Look, I love seeing Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto team up. It's always a treat. Their dynamics are fantastic.
But did they really need to be the *only* heroes to save the world *again*? Where were the Pro Heroes? Where was everyone else?
It felt like everyone else just disappeared for plot convenience. Seriously, even Mineta could have contributed something. (Okay, maybe not.)
The Costumes: Stylish, but Impractical?
Okay, the stealth suits looked amazing. The colors, the designs… chef's kiss. But let's be honest, some of them seemed a little impractical for actual combat.
Like, did Bakugo really need all those grenades on his belt? It's cool, but… a bit much, isn't it? Maybe tone it down a little.
And Deku's costume with the cloak. Super stylish, but wouldn't that just get in the way? I am sure they had a practical reason but...
Final Thoughts: Still Worth Watching?
Despite my criticisms, I still enjoyed World Heroes' Mission. It's a fun superhero romp with some great action.
It might not be the *best* My Hero Academia movie. But it's definitely not the worst.
So, should you watch it? Absolutely. Just don't go in expecting a masterpiece. Expect a fun, action-packed superhero adventure with some questionable plot choices. Enjoy!
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe everyone actually secretly agrees with me. Who knows?
Let me know what you think in the comments! Maybe you can convince me I'm crazy. Or maybe, just maybe, you'll agree with my slightly controversial opinion.
