Is it Just Me, Or…?

Is it just me, or does the loading screen mock you? The spinning wheel almost seems to speed up. It then slows to a crawl right before it’s supposed to finish.

It’s like watching a really bad magician perform a trick. Except the trick is disappearing time. And making you question your life choices.

Speaking of life choices, maybe I should have backed up my files. But who has time for that, right? Besides, what could possibly go wrong?

My unpopular opinion? The loading screen is Apple’s way of saying, "You should have bought a new one." Harsh, but probably true.

The Unplug and Pray Method

So what do we do when our beloved Mac decides to take a nap? The classic "unplug and pray" method, of course! Is it scientifically sound? Maybe not.

But does it sometimes work? Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. Plus, it gives you something to do besides staring at the screen.

I once knew someone who claimed shaking their laptop worked. I'm not endorsing that, mind you. But I also won't judge if you try it.

The Forbidden Force Quit

Then there’s the dreaded force quit. The equivalent of yanking the power cord on a sleeping giant. Risky, but sometimes necessary.

I imagine Steve Jobs himself frowns upon this method. But hey, a girl's gotta work. And deadlines don't wait for spinning wheels.

The irony is, after all this drama, it usually turns on fine. Like nothing ever happened. As if your Mac was just testing your patience.

Of course, the paranoia never truly leaves you. You always wonder if this is the time it finally gives up the ghost. The anxiety is real.

Living With the Loading Loop

So, we live with the loading loop. We accept its occasional visits. We try not to scream at our screens. (Too often.)
